Description
Emerald Sage is a large bronze skinned man from the southeast of creation, just past his prime, but still build like a warrior with wide shoulders and strong muscular limbs. He keeps his head shaven bald in the tradition of his former army and tends to avoid overly ritualistic clothing in favor of more simple attire. Emerald Sage’s disdain for ritual has led to confrontations with his circle mates from time to time, although he has found a kindred spirit in his circle’s night caste Righteous Hammer of Night. Several scars running across Emerald Sage’s body show his past as a warrior also shows in.
Emerald Sage’s name comes from the particular green coloration of his anima. Emerald Sage speculated that it was a reminder from his years of fighting in the lush emerald jungles of the southeast.
Biography
The Emerald Sage was member of a circle of first age solars, masters of a great empire in the eastern parts of creation. Although they are long gone, their actions, their legacy still affect creation in one way or another. The Emerald Sage was a soldier before his exaltation, a battle hardened veteran, who at first wondered at his exaltation into the Twilight case. As a warrior and leader of men in battle, it could be expected that he would become a Dawn caste, but as time went by, the man would had become the Emerald Sage came to see the wisdom of his new destiny. He was quickly found by and made a member of a powerful Solar circle, known somewhat grandiose as the Golden Court of Day and here he quickly found his place, using his years of fighting to acts as the circle’s veteran strategist. Although at least two other members of the circle could best him in single combat, Emerald Sage’s experience and clarity of vision (called cynicism by some) quickly made him the circle’s defacto leader in combat or war. Combining these traits with the great sorceries he quickly mastered; made Emerald Sage a great force on the many battlefields the Golden Court of Day would fight on throughout the circle’s long history.
As the great curse gripped the Golden Court of Day with madness, Emerald Sage became ever harder and more callous in his behavior, forcing his will upon the circle's subjects, not with mind warping magic but with brutal shows of force.
Detailed Backgrounds
- Fortress of the Verdant Warrior(Manse 4 ) A great fortress on the southern edge of the circle´s territory, the fortress is the Emerald Sage's base. He often retires here to study and train. The manse creates a powerful hearthstone known as the Tear of the Verdant Warlord. Apart from restoring 8 motes of essence per hour to the Emerald Sage, the Tear of the Verdant Warlord
- Flight of Steel (Ally 3) A lunar ally of the Golden Court of Day, the Lunar Steel Wing was a young aggressive Full Moon warrior with some great predator bird, an eagle or hawk, as her totem. Although she is an ally of the entire solar circle and has aided them on numerous occasion, it is with the equally martially minded Emerald Sage, she shares the greatest connection.
Other Notes
Emerald Sage is the first of a circle of mad first age solar, loosely based on the Justice Lords[1], a tyrannical version of the Justice League. I've always seen Superman and his gang as a perfect example of really powerful solars and the Justice Lords seems an equally perfect example of said powerful solars, totally corrupt, moments before the usurpation.
