Solar Investigation Charms by CrownedSun
Hidden Object Found Prana (placeholder name)
Cost: 4 motes Duration: Instant Type: Simple Minimum Investigation: 2 Minimum Essence: 1 Prerequisite Charms:
The character focuses his gaze on a given individual or an object, his eyes keen to the minute shifts in posture and essence flows that give away the presence of any concealed items. Without so much as touching the individual, the Exalt knows exactly how many weapons he's carrying and where as well as any other items that might be concealed about his person. While this charm is not quite as effective as a thorough patdown, it functions well enough as to seem uncanny if the character takes advantage of the knowledge.
The exalt must focus on his target for a number of turns equal to (8 - Investigation). He then makes a Perception + Investigation roll, with even a single success revealing near-complete information about any concealed weapons or items the character is carrying with him. This charm flawlessly penetrates hidden compartments, secret pockets, concealed sheathes, or any other mundane attempts to hide items. The amount of detail given depends on the number of successes on the roll. Five successes gives just as much information as if the character had spent fifteen to thirty minutes exhausively searching the subject and cataloguing every item, while one success only gives the character a rough indiciation of what is hidden and where.
The difficulty to spot items concealed by magic is raised by the essence of the charm being used to conceal them (unless the charm gives another appropriate system). This includes charms that hide weapons and other items in Elsewhere.
Unveiling Secrets Tone
Cost: 8 motes, 1 willpower Duration: One scene Type: Reflexive Minimum Investigation: 5 Minimum Essence: 4 Prerequisite Charms: Not yet written (off Judges Ear)
Through careful attention to the tone of someone speaking to him, the Solar can hear what is not being said in addition to what is being said, providing him a larger picture of the conversation. This requires a Perception + Investigation roll; the roll has a difficulty of the subjects Essence if he knows the nature of this charm and is guarding his tone. One success will unveil the general subjext of the conversation ("I have no designs on your wife, sah!!...what do you think I am? A suicidal moron?"). Three successes digs a bit deeper and gives you all of the information relevant ot the conversation. ("...though, I do know that she's having an affair and with whom."). Five successes will let you make wild cognitive leaps off very little information ("...however, that's not your biggest problem. I'm actually a spy from the Blessed Isle, and I've been relaying vital information back to the All-Seeing Eye.").
If the subject is a particularly good liar (got more successes than you on his dissembling roll), one or two additional success is required for the same information.
This Charm inspired by the vibrant madness of Rebecca Sean Borgstrom. Thus_Spake_Zaraborgstrom/DeathlordsPlan
