Lunar Appearance Charms

Shap Changing III

Lending of the Flesh

Cost: 5 Motes, 1 Health Level (Lethal)
Duration: Indefinite
Type: Simple
Minimum Appearance: 3
Minimum Essence: 3
Prerequisite Charms: Tool Hand Technique

By means of this charm a Lunar can transmute a part of their body into a powerful melee or martial arts weapon. The process simply begins with grabbing a limb and pulling. As the essence for the charm is spent, that limb separates from the Lunar’s body and quickly forms into a formidable weapon. This weapon can take the form of any normal weapon, though the statistics vary from Lunar to Lunar. The weapon starts with a base of zero in all of its statistics except for rate, which has a base of one. The Lunar's player then receives a number of points equal to the sum of their human form physical attributes to apply to the weapon's speed, accuracy, damage, defense, and rate.

Thematically the use of this charm is a disturbing thing to watch, though mechanically it provides little penalty to the Lunar. If a leg is removed the Lunar suffers from -3 mobility penalty that applies to their movement rate as well. If an arm is removed the Lunar suffers from a -1 penalty on all athletics rolls concerning balance, and they find themselves unable to wield two handed or multiple weapons. If the Lunar has the Gift of Hands gift, this penalty does not apply.

The effects of the charm can be ended whenever the Lunar decides to de-commit the motes spent on it. If the weapon is in the Lunar’s possession at this time she may re-attach it freely. If not, the Lunar will need to regenerate the limb in an alternate way, either using regeneration Gifts or Charms. The lost limb is considered to be a three health level wound for healing purposes.
