Some charms specifically declare when they must be activated, but what is the general order?
House Rules and Suggestions
When I started I thought that an attack action was resolved this way: declare # of attacks and repeat the following - (declare charm(s) for attack, declare defenses, roll attack and defense, resolve counterattacks and damage).
I've seen many variations of this, from double blind declaration and rolling to the attacker declaring and rolling and then the defender, knowing the results, can use one defense, and then if unsuccessful can use another.
Let me know if this is too unclear, and I'll try to explain -Myrlan
Comments on the Suggestions
Just to complicate matters, some defense charms must be declared before you roll to hit, others can be declared afterwards. The Melee parries can be declared after the hit roll is made; the dodge ones generally go before the roll. -- JohnBiles
