Body-Weapon Technique
Cost: 1 mote Duration: Instant Type: Supplemental Min. Strength: 1 Min. Essence: 1 Prereqs: None
Make a single unarmed attack do lethal damage.
Blaque's Version
As above, except that if the Lunar can already do lethal with an attack, the attack adds the Lunar's permanant Essence to the raw damage if the attack hits.
CrownedSun's Version
Body Weapon Technique: When attacking with this charm, the Lunar adds 3 to the speed and 2L to the damage. These bonuses can affect any of the Lunar's natural attacks. This charm does not work if the Lunar already has natural weapons that enhance his effective punch/kick/clinch. See Exalted: Lunars, Page 136.
Morpheus's Version
It can either make an attack do lethal damage for 1 mote, or it can parry a lethal attack for 1 mote. And it replaces Steel Paw Style as the first charm of the defensive parry tree
BrokenShade's Version
The Charm is now permanent and allows you to (1) choose whether any unarmed attack does bashing or lethal damage, and (2) parry Lethal damage unarmed. It replaces Steel Paw Style as the first charm in the defensive parry tree.
Wordman's Version
The Lunar shapes her hand into a hardened implement, allowing her to block a single lethal attack (even if unarmed) or make an unarmed attack do lethal damage. The basic knowledge behind this charm allows it to be used in place of Steel Paw Style and Tool Hand Technique as a prerequiste for charms that require them. The training for this charm emphasizes making split second shape alterations to adapt an attack to better penetrate a defense, adding one die to the attack.

Generally, just make the Charm actually useful for folks wo get the claw Charms and gifts. SHouldn't be useless once you buy the next CHarm in the tree I say. Stuff. Blaque
- I agree with the sentiment, but allowing a high-Essence Lunar to add, say, 5 dice for a single mote seems excessive, don't you think? It quickly becomes very powerful for such a low-level Charm. - Quendalon
- Ehn, you can do it with Tiger Style for 2 motes, IIRC. And that's a martial art.
Brings the charm more in line with Fist of Iron (+3 speed, instead of +1 acc). I don't think that the charm necessarily needs to be compatible with claws or what not, and this charm is still pretty useful. Lunars have a lot to gain, basically, from having an actual unarmed attack. Plus, this lets you make Kicks at +0 speed, +5L Damage:D -- CrownedSun
Like Blaque, my variation maintains utility for Lunars with built-in lethal attack by letting them strike to subdue. - Quendalon
Yep, this is gonna turn into FixTheSolarCharmTrees. Ah well. -- CrownedSun
Lunar Charms are way too expensive xp-wise, and are full of all sorts of really silly, completely artificial separations like the one between these two Charms. I'm with Morpheus here. - SMK
I'd just note that I /really/ don't like Morpheus' version. It bridges two charm trees, which I think is in general a fairly bad idea. I'd rather separately improve Steel Paw Style, as opposed to combining it with this charm. -- CrownedSun
But I can't come up with a single possible in-game explanation that makes the division between the Charms make sense. I mean, it's already established that you can parry with claws (and even teeth, for goodness's sake) - what could this Charm possibly do to someone in terms of gross shapeshifting that's less defensively viable than claws? Plus, various Charm trees are bridged aplenty within the extant canon Charm structure, so I don't see the problem. - SMK
- Edit: I'm rescinding my vote here. See FixTheLunarCharmTrees/ToolHandTechnique for my new fix. - SMK
