DragonBlooded Ride Charms by GoldenH
Dragon-Taming Stamina
Cost: 10m + WP + HL Duration: Instant Type: Reflexive Minimum Ride: 5 Minimum Essence: 4 Prerequisite Charms: Dance of the Jade Bridle
Oftentimes, the Dragon-Blooded needs the strength to do something, now, and does not have time to wait for any other distractions.
This charm doubles your Ride and counts the doubled specialties as autosux for any single roll. It may be used with other Ride charms in this tree.
Bareback Mount Whisper
Cost: 2m Duration: One Scene Type: Supplemental Minimum Ride: 3 Minimum Essence: 2 Prerequisite Charms: Scattered Pearl Hoof Falls
This charm may be taken before Scattered Pearl Hoof Falls, with the implication that it will be taken soon after; it does not count as Scattered Pearl Hoof Falls that require the said charm as a prerequisite.
For the rest of the scene, the Exalted can ride any mount without a saddle, even if it her own, as long as it is rideable and, in general, horselike in nature. The Exalt suffers no penalties for riding a horse like this, and infact the relationship of the steed and rider improves; give the rider +Ess/2 rounded up to charisma for all social rolls for the rest of the scene, even those that do not involve riding.
Horse-Guiding Balance
Cost: 2m Duration: One Turn Type: Reflexive Minimum Ride: 4 Minimum Essence: 3 Prerequisite Charms: Bareback Mount Whisper
While this charm is active the Exalted no longer needs to ride her mount; she kneels gently on it's back, allowing it to keep her aloft. In this position her attacks are no longer limited by her Ride ability, in fact, add half of her Ride ability to all Ranged attacks - this cannot more than double the Archery ability.
Exchange of the Tree Maidens
Cost: 2 Duration: 18m + 2 WP + 2 HL + Special Type: Extra Action Minimum Ride: 5 Minimum Essence: 5 Prerequisite Charms: Horse-Guiding Balance
The great horse-archers of the southeast furiously guard the secret bloodlines of not only their mounts, but their riders as well. Some of these bloodlines include those of Dragon Blooded ancestry, and this is the charm they have developed. When a group of their archers has gathered together, and is charging the enemy, they may all fire as one, in a single instant bringing a rain of doom upon their foes. Every ally in the charge fires with the same force and power as the one who activated this charge. This has never been accomplished with more than a full talon of archers, though theoretically there is no limit.
Noone has ever survived an attack where this charm was used, and it is one of the most secret uses passed down from mother to child. Any outsiders who learn of this charm's existance must meet their certain doom - honor demands no less.
The archer who uses this charm makes a single attack, with whatever combo she wishes - however, the cost of all those charms are doubled. The attack is rolled only once, and all other attacks use this roll. This charm may explicitly be comboed with charms of either the Ride or the Archery ability, and with charms that allow themselves to be comboed with those two abilities.
Comments:
Any reason Horse-Guiding Balance only adds to ranged attacks? I would have thought kneeling on a horse could give more impetus to a downward sword stroke as well, or indeed just about any type of attack.
