Custom Armor and Shields

None of the armors listed in the books are legal. The shields are (mostly), but I wanted a better armor/shield system.

Armor

'Poor, fine, exceptional, perfect' is merely a descriptive term - crafting good armor is about the Resources and skill you put into it (there is no 'perfect articulated plate' - there is no improving it without magic, and then only that of the Exalted).

Armor is built by points. There are three values that grant points.

1: Every point of fatigue grants a point, or half a point if the armor is concealed.
2: Every point of mobility penalty grants a point, or half a point if the armor is concealed.
3: Every point of resources grants four points, or two points if the armor is concealed.

It is possible to have 0-cost or no-fatigue-no-mobility penalty armor.

The maximum fatigue value, mobility penalty and resources is five. Thus you can have up to 25 points on your armor, or 15 if it is concealed.

You can spend one point for 1L -OR- 1B soak.

In no case may one soak value be three higher than the other.

For example, you can have 9L/7B armor or 7L/9B armor, or 8L/8B, but not 10L/6B.

Shields

Shields are, naturally, a bit simpler, and closer to the original Exalted rules.

A Buckler or a Target shield costs a single dot of Resources. A Tower shield costs two dots.

By increasing the resource cost by one, you can subtract one point of mobility penalty (But not fatigue for Tower shields). By decreasing the cost by one (free block of wood, someone's door...) you add one to the mobility penalty.
