In it's regular form, this artifact appears to be simply a black robe, similar to that worn by undertakers in Creation, with a soulsteel clasp, with a Hearthstone setting in it, that sits directly upon the throat. It carries an air of regal finery about it, and the robe has barely visible patterns of black roses upon it that draw the eyes. The patterns are mildly hypnotic, and add s two-dice bonus to any Social checks the wearer makes.

With a mere thought, however, the robe can be shattered, leaving only the clasp behind as it breaks apart into thousands of black rose petals that whirl about the wearer, blinding enemies and buffetting attacks. Every time a petal strikes something, it turns to blood, trickling down surfaces to the ground. Yet the supply of petals seems inexhaustible, and with another thought, the petals return to the clasp in a moment, the robe again intact.

When being used in its secondary form, it inflicts a -2 penalty on all offensive actions taken against the wearer, as arrows are thrown off course and melee attackers find themselves blinded and buffetted.
