The Dark Empress

Oh, how far you have fallen. Once the ruler of an Empire, subject to the whims of none. Master manipulator of the most devious sorts - your work of art, concerning the political canvass known as the realm, is ugly now that you have gone. You have succeeded in requiring the Scarlet Empire to depend upon you, and succeeded beyond your wildest dreams. In your absence, your Realm sputters like a drowning child. They have no hope - and you can only sit back and watch, from your little prison in Malfeas, while Creation braces for a devastating civil war.

Canon

It is generally assumed that the Scarlet Empress is in Malfeas, awaiting her return to Creation (which heralds VERY bad things). Supposedly she is wed to the Ebon Dragon, and it is believed this event will occur after 'her funeral' is held on the Isle. And that, after the wedding, she will somehow return to subjugate the same people who once admired (or feared) her - and, in a funny way, their feelings will remain unchanged (at least the fear bit). How will the setting react, if she returns, is the key question?

How will the Blessed Isle react?

Interesting and most thought provoking question, into how the Isle will react to the return of the long lost Empress. The powerbrokers, who eyes are on the throne, will definitely not be happy with her return. They wanted the throne for themselves, and with her return, that ambition will be out of sight - but, in the end, in their attempt to grab power, will play the 'Anathema' card, as the Empress has most obviously changed (both in appearance, and attitude). Some will outright dispute the fact that she is, indeed, the Scarlet Empress. Others who believe she is who she says she is, will cry "Anathema" - and perhaps even use that to rally somebody, anybody, to their side.

The general peasantry will be afraid and fearful of her. The Immaculates will stand up to her (with guidance from the Sidereals of course. The last thing the Bronze Faction wants or needs, is to hand over control of the Blessed Isle to the Yozis. Bad jujus indeed). This will, ultimately, solve the problem, of no leader figure on the throne. Whomever the Bronze Faction supports to take the throne, will probably succeed in taking it. My guess would be, that they would consider actually putting a Sidereal on the throne, for ease of control (damn that rebellious empress). Perhaps, if not a Sidereal, putting the mouth of the peace in control (as Kejak has firm control over her sorcery addled mind) is something else they would consider, if not putting an outright Sidereal with a good resplendant destiny on the throne.

Peleps Deled would be furious, and would start an immediate Hunt, or cry for a Hunt and personally volunteer, to 'take down this travesty, although it saddens his heart that even the Empress was weak enough to be converted by the foul Anathema'.

Tepet Ejava, would be put in a good spot here, and would be one of the front runners on the throne. Mnemon most certainly would not allow the Empress to retake her throne, seeing the inherent danger. She would also, consider toning down her sorcery a bit, lest she follow in her mothers foot steps.

House Ledaal would be scared a bit - they know of sorcery. They know of demons. They have their eyes on threats to Creation, and have been ones who have cried out for action against the Deathlords for a long time. This would become a diversion, perhaps strong enough for them to take their eyes off the Deathlords as creations foremost threat, and would definitely mobilize against her, and throw their support in for whomever they felt was the best candidate for the throne.

The other great houses would squabble - I believe in the end, it would be down to Mnemon and Tepet Ejava for the throne - perhaps they would come up with a compromise, or a truce, for their mutual self interests and the survival of Creation. Hopefully, at least. If not, a DEFINITE civil war would break out immediately, which wouldn't be good in the face of such a threat.
