Okay, so I noticed this strange thing at GenCon. I thought I was alone, but some guys on the demo team mentioned it to me as well. Basically, it's this -- people would come up to me, and say "well, I love the game, and I buy all the books, but I just can't get anyone I know to play."

It's not that they can't find fellow gamers. In many cases, it's not like their fellow gamers don't like the game -- the people who talked to me often couldn't get people to open the friggin' book.

So while I'm filing this away for more action on the Wolf's part in the future, I'd like to get the serious fans involved now, because there's no time like the present to involve the fanbase.

1) If you are a serious fan, please try to turn at least one other person on to Exalted. It seems to be no problem to get people to keep playing once they try it, but it's the getting people to play at all that's the hurdle. If we want to keep the game successful and growing, then we need to recruit players. People are getting tired of D&D3 -- now is the time to bring them in. Yes, we're already selling about as well as Vampire. Let's sell better --It won't get less fun for you just because more people play -- quite the opposite. Wouldn't it be cool to have an event like the Cam's ICC but for Exalted fans? Or to have enough of a name in the market that video game companies are tusseling over the rights?

2) If you have had a situation where you got this mule-like resistance to try new things, please use this thread to discuss the origins of that resistance (if you know them) and how you overcame it (assuming you did). If we share our tricks back and forth, we can build the fan base up.

Anyway, I just wanted to post this because it seemed weird to me that people were reluctant to even look at a game that so many people find fascinating and fun once they give in and play.
