Thus Spake Zaraborgstrom/WhyBeingDeadIsntSoBad
The intended model of raksha-on-raksha shaping combat is that normal combat between the two participants is basically meaningless, right? If two raksha duelists actually go at it with normal actions in the midst of their Sword-shaping, their normal actions may provide bonuses, but the part that counts is the outcome of the sword-shaping. Even if one of them kills the other with normal actions, a single shaping action by the dead participant will restore him completely.
But doesn't it follow, then, that killing your opponent with normal actions in each scene between shaping rolls is actually of some benefit, because you force your opponent to split his shaping action to restore himself every scene, and thereby give him penalties on whatever other shaping he tries to do each scene? Or is the shaping action to restore oneself from "death" in the Wyld reflexive?
Well, why would he need to restore himself from death?
"I stab you to death, darn it." <-- probably part of a Sword-shaping attack, because otherwise you're undermining your own story.
"As you stare into my corpse's lovely and lifeless eyes, you realize what you've done, you bastard. A great sadness fills you." <-- part of a Cup-shaping attack.
