(This was in response to ADamiani, who said "The problem for me was always everything BUT shaping combat. I don't understand what I'm supposed to DO in a game where nothing I say or do matters unless I make a shaping roll to back it up. It feels like I become irrelvant as a player. It feels like ALL there is to do is combat with set-dressing, since you can't meaningfully interact with the environment in any other fashion.")

It may also help to realize that, just as words are less "sticky" than social rolls in vanilla Exalted, and both are less "sticky" than shaping actions in the Wyld, shaping actions are less "sticky" than how the players and ST agree to play the game, and that game contract is less sticky than the brain chemistry of the players.

Sure, when you're calling for pizza for your gaming group, even the cleverest shaping actions fail to impress Domino's; and when another raksha has a stake in events, then your words-and-social-rolls-inside-the-story won't, in the final analysis, stop them from pursuing that stake. They may still impress the masks and figments you're talking to, though, which is all you ever get in any roleplaying game.
