Once, Doka Duff was one of the most successful bankers in Nexus.
Once, Doka Duff had a loving family.
Once, Doka Duff knew what it was to be happy.
Once, Doka Duff was called Doka Duff and not Unclean.
One day, Doka Duff set himself on fire in the privacy of his bedroom.
Nobody's quite sure why.

Rumors

• Doka the Unclean was Anathema, and the nightmarish deaths of his two wives, six children, major-domo, and half-brother were the Wyld Hunt's first strike before they caught up with him.
• Doka the Unclean's shame and suicide can be traced back to an impossible promise Doka made to a Yoskanero Merchant Captain sanctified by a Jade Cage of Warrants.
• Doka isn't really dead. He's one of the poor souls working as waiters at the The Willful Goat.

Secret

• The horrific rituals those surrounding Doka perpetrated (the witnessing of which drove him to suicide) unleashed a forbidden god into the world from its prison Elsewhere.
