The Sugar Islands are the heart of the wealth and power of the Ragnarok Gang. They earn immense amounts of money from the coffee, indigo, tobacco, cotton, and especially sugar grown here. Colonized by the cunning Malana I, these islands have led her branch of the Ragnarok Gang to dominate it.

The islands are divided, like the Pineapple Republic, into endless fields of cash crops grown by slaves. The United Republic of Fruit and the Sugar Islands constantly raid each other and the long southwestern coast for slaves.

They are governed by an elected council chosen by the free citizens in conjunction with a hereditary Satrap. The result is frequent fighting and a heavily corrupt government. Pirates are found in all the major ports, seeking employment for raids against the Pineapple Republic or the United Republic of Fruit. Even Port Molasses is full of pirates.
