Oni Protagonist Form Charms

Many PF Charms can be taken as mutations. Your Essence + Mutation Points cannot exceed your Willpower + 4. These charms have a mutation cost equal to their cost in Dream Dust. Only charms with fixed Dream Dust costs can be taken as mutations.

Flesh of (Element)

  • Cost: 10 motes, 1 Dream Dust
  • Duration: One Story
  • Type: Reflexive
  • Minimum Moe: 1
  • Prerequisite Charms: None

This charm enables the Oni to transform his Protagonist Form into a being made of some Element, enabling him to exist inside Creation. His Story is tucked away inside him until he releases this charm. If slain in Creation while using this charm, he dies permanently.

He gains some benefit depending on his chosen element:

  • Air: Air bodies are light and nimble; he can reduce the difficulty of any feat of acrobatics or movement by his Moe.
  • Fire: Fire bodies are flammable and energetic. He can light anything flammable with a touch, and he adds two damage dice to any unarmed or melee attacks which hit.
  • Metal: Metal bodies are sturdy and durable; he gains two extra -0 health levels.
  • Water: Water bodies are flexible and mobile; he can freely operate underwater without needing air and suffers no penalties in underwater situations from the environment.
  • Wood: Wood bodies are adaptable and growing; he halves healing times.

He can only use one form of this charm at a time, though learning it grants the ability to use all five variations.


Favor of (Element)

  • Prerequisite Charms: Flesh of (Element)

The Oni can call upon his chosen element to aid himself or someone else. By burning 1 mote / 2 dice, he can reflexively give himself or someone else an Elemental Bonus to an action up to his Moe in size. He must construct some rationale by which actions of that element could aid him or someone else. This bonus counts towards whatever die-adder maximums the target may have. He can only use the element whose form he has assumed, and can only use this charm while Flesh of (Element) is active.

Health of the Oni

  • Cost: Permanent
  • Duration: Permanent
  • Type: Permanent
  • Minimum Moe: 1
  • Prerequisite Charms: None

Each time this charm is taken, the Oni's Protagonist Form gains a -1 and 2 -2 Health levels. He can take it a number of times equal to his Moe.


Flesh of Steel

  • Cost: 5 motes, 1 Dream Dust
  • Duration: One Story
  • Type: Speech
  • Minimum Moe: 2
  • Prerequisite Charms: Health of the Oni

Your skin becomes as tough as steel, adding double your Resistance ability to your Lethal and Bashing soak.


Form of the Giant

  • Cost: 5 * Moe motes, 1 Dream Dust / Moe
  • Duration: One Story
  • Type: Speech
  • Minimum Moe: 3
  • Prerequisite Charms: Health of the Oni

The Protagonist Form multiplies its height by its Moe. This has several effects:

  • Adds the benefits of Health of the Oni a number of times equal to your Moe
  • Adds your Moe to your Strength and Stamina
  • Add your Moe to your Lethal and Bashing Soak
  • Your attacks are hard to parry; add your Moe to the difficulty to parry your attacks.
  • However, you dodge poorly against anything smaller than you, suffering a penalty to any dodges equal to Moe.


Threshold of Hardness

  • Cost: 10 motes, 2 Dream Dust
  • Duration: One Story
  • Type: Speech
  • Minimum Moe: 4
  • Prerequisite Charms: Health of the Oni

The Oni cannot be damaged by any damage dicepool (before soak) equal to or less than his Builder + Resistance.
