Helping Goddess (Athletics)

Run in a Straight Line

The Helping Goddess flees at high speed in a straight line, as if a giant boulder was tumbling after her. This doubles her base running speed for a single movement action. She must move in a straight line.


Carrot-Chasing Sprint

  • Type: Reflexive
  • Minimum Athletics: 3
  • Minimum Moe: 2
  • Prerequisite Charms: Run in a Straight Line

The Helping Goddess gestures and a vision of something the target greatly desires appears in front of them. They then run towards it, enabling them to multiply their base speed by their (Moe + Athletics). She can use this on herself if she wants to. She does not control the movement of others if she uses this on them.

Cartwheel of Death

  • Cost: 4 motes, 1 WP
  • Duration: Instant
  • Type: Subtle/Mental
  • Minimum Athletics: 4
  • Minimum Moe: 2
  • Prerequisite Charms: Carrot-Chasing Sprint

The Helping Goddess cartwheels at high speed, culminating in a brutal assault on whoever is at the end of her wheeling of doom. The Helping Goddess can take a running action, then attack someone. Damage inflicted is doubled after soak when she takes her attack action...assuming it hits, anyway. This may be comboed with charms of other abilities.

Gravity Ignoring Run

  • Cost: 5 motes, 1 WP
  • Duration: Instant
  • Type: Subtle/Mental
  • Minimum Athletics: 4
  • Minimum Moe: 3
  • Prerequisite Charms: Carrot-Chasing Sprint

The Helping Goddess runs so fast that the Ultimate System can't catch up in its efforts to apply gravity to her. She can run up to Moe * 10 * Base Move in a single round, and she can run on air or liquid so long as she starts and ends the movement standing on something solid.

Marathon Woman

  • Cost: 5 motes, 1 WP
  • Duration: Instant
  • Type: Subtle/Mental
  • Minimum Athletics: 4
  • Minimum Moe: 3
  • Prerequisite Charms: Carrot-Chasing Sprint

The Helping Goddess takes off at high speed, running a mile a minute. She can run up to one Marathon (26 miles). During this time, she can do nothing but run or dodge attacks. (Or warn people the Persians are coming. This archaic bit of the Protocol confuses many modern HG scholars, who are unsure what a Persian is. Many protocols contain odd little bits like this.)

Shoulder-Leaping Jump

  • Prerequisite Charms: Basic Athletics Protocol

This protocol was originally developed to assist teams of Helping Goddesses in getting down books from high places by standing on each other's shoulders. The Helping Goddess flawlessly leaps onto someone's shoulders or head and balances there. That person must be within 8 * Moe yards of the HG's starting point.

Body-Balancing Stance

  • Cost: 3 motes
  • Duration: One Scene
  • Type: Re-fun
  • Minimum Athletics: 3
  • Minimum Moe: 2
  • Prerequisite Charms: Shoulder-Leaping Jump

The Helping Goddess can now walk about on people (or any other living creature) as if moving on solid ground; she moves up to her normal walking or running movement, hopping from person to person as she goes. She never falls off someone's shoulders or head unless pushed off deliberately, which she adds her Athletics as bonus dice to resist any such attempt.


Balcony Ascending Climb

  • Cost: 5 motes
  • Duration: Instant
  • Type: Reflexive
  • Minimum Athletics: 4
  • Minimum Moe: 2
  • Prerequisite Charms: Body-Balancing Stance

The Helping Goddess can leap from balcony to ledge to balcony in order to quickly climb a building or inside a building. (This can let you go up a spiral staircase or a switchback staircase also) The Helping Goddess can execute a series of leaps of up to 2 * (Athletics + Moe) yards at a time, in order to move up or down Moe * 12 yards.

Cammy Attack Desu

  • Cost: 4 motes
  • Duration: Instant
  • Type: Simple
  • Minimum Athletics: 4
  • Minimum Brawl: 3
  • Minimum Moe: 2
  • Prerequisite Charms: Body-Balancing Stance

The Helping Goddess vaults onto the shoulders of her target and makes a clinch attack. If she succeeds, she wraps her legs around the neck of her target, then twists backwards. This inflicts Strength +4 Lethal damage, then flings both her and her target into the air. They are both flung her Moe * 10 yards away. She drops off at the last second, landing smoothly without injury, while her foe falls, slamming into the ground and taking falling damage. This can be comboed with both Brawl and Athletics charms.


Chump-Exposing Leap

  • Cost: 3 motes
  • Duration: Instant
  • Type: Re-fun
  • Minimum Athletics: 4
  • Minimum Dodge: 3
  • Minimum Moe: 2
  • Prerequisite Charms: Shoulder-Leaping Jump

To use this charm, the Helping Goddess must be standing on someone else's shoulders. She makes a full die pool dodge against an in-coming attack. If she succeeds, the attack hits the person she was standing on and she lands up to 4*Moe yards away.
