Manipulation Charms

Manipulation charms tend to involve social interaction through lies, deceit, and trickery, though there are some unusual applications.

Prey Upon Virtue

  • Minimum Manipulation: 4
  • Minimum Moe: 2
  • Prerequisite Charms: Excellent Catgirl Manipulation

Most say your Virtues make you strong; to the cunning Catgirl, your virtues are weaknesses, doors which can be exploited. You must select one of the target's virtues; she suffers a die penalty to resist any of your Manipulation charms or a Speech Manipulation die pool equal to that virtue.

Incite Jealousy

  • Cost: 8 motes
  • Duration: Indefinite
  • Type: Speech
  • Minimum Manipulation: 5
  • Minimum Moe: 2
  • Prerequisite Charms: Prey Upon Virtue

Catgirls and their followers are often prone to jealousy, part of their urge to dominance. The Catgirl picks a target and a victim, then rolls Manipulation + Socialize. If her successes exceed the Moe of the target, the target is inspired with a deep jealousy of the victim. her Temperance and Compassion with regard to the target is penalized by the Catgirl's Moe. If this drops her Temperance and Compassion to zero, she will set out to destroy her target. she may burn Conviction in pursuit of this goal. Any victim who can control her Moe expenditure may spend Willpower to fight the jealousy.


Struggle for Dominance

  • Minimum Moe: 3
  • Prerequisite Charms: Incite Jealousy

In every society, there are many who wish to be on top who are not. The Catgirl fans the flames of the animal urge to dominate, causing a social group to begin tearing itself apart. The Catgirl picks a target, who must be the leader of a community. she rolls Manipulation + Socialize. If she scores successes equal to the Moe of that leader, one rival for the leadership is affected. Each extra success affects another leader. These leaders become inflamed with the desire to take over and will procede to work to undermine the leader and replace him. (For the duration of the charm, they act as if they had Conviction equal to the Catgirl's Manipulation with regard to overthrowing their leader, and suffer a penalty to Compassion towards the leader equal to the Catgirl's Moe)


Subvert Virtue

  • Cost: 8 motes
  • Duration: One Scene
  • Type: Speech
  • Minimum Manipulation: 5
  • Minimum Moe: 2
  • Prerequisite Charms: Prey Upon Virtue

Through cunning words and half-truths, the Catgirl saps away a virtue which is in the way of moving someone the way she wants. she rolls Manipulation + Presence with a difficulty of the target's Moe. Every success lowers the target virtue by 1 for the duration of the scene. Targets may still spend willpower to act in accordance with the virtue if it hits zero, but it cannot be channeled.



Expose Corruption

  • Cost: 3 motes
  • Duration: Instant
  • Type: Speech
  • Minimum Manipulation: 3
  • Minimum Moe: 1
  • Prerequisite Charms: Manipulation of the Moon

The Catgirl senses which of the target's virtues is lowest. If her Moe is equal to or greater than the target's, she senses the exact value. she also senses the target's Vices (if she has any).

Tempt to Vice

  • Cost: 6 motes
  • Duration: One Scene
  • Type: Speech
  • Minimum Manipulation: 4
  • Minimum Moe: 2
  • Prerequisite Charms: Expose Corruption

Some people crumple upon exposure to temptation. The Catgirl must put someone in the way of some temptation, then rolls Manipulation + Socialize against a difficulty of the target's Moe. The target gains a Vice equal to the number of extra successes which corresponds to the temptation. (A Vice lowers virtues against some stimuli, such as Vice (Lust) which lowers a person's Temperance with regard to sex.)

Slave to Desire

  • Cost: 10 motes, 1 WP
  • Duration: Instant
  • Type: Speech
  • Minimum Manipulation: 5
  • Minimum Moe: 3
  • Prerequisite Charms: Tempt to Vice

Many Catgirls see all civilized folk as slaves to their desires, caught in chains of corruption. Wiser Catgirls know better, but also know that if a foe has a weakness, you might as well exploit it. If you offer the target her greatest vice or secret desire, she cannot help but agree to do whatever you want for it, even betray her lovers and friends. Of course, some vices are harder to fill than others.


Generous Bargainer

  • Cost: 3 motes
  • Duration: Instant
  • Type: Subtle/Mental
  • Minimum Manipulation: 3
  • Minimum Moe: 1
  • Prerequisite Charms: Manipulation of the Moon

Catgirls and Catgirl-influenced societies respect generous people. This charm imposes the virtue of generosity on someone the Catgirl is bargaining with. she rolls Manipulation + Presence. Each success lowers the difficulty of a Manipulation action related to negotiations, usually trading ones (but also diplomacy).

Fool's Gold

  • Cost: 4 motes / point of Resources.
  • Duration: One Scene
  • Type: Speech
  • Minimum Manipulation: 3
  • Minimum Moe: 2
  • Prerequisite Charms: Generous Bargainer

Why pay a corrupt merchant in real money and goods that she doesn't deserve? They're out to cheat you and your people; you should cheat them back. The Catgirl can make goods look far more valuable than they are, though she must have something to work with. she rolls Manipulation; every success lets her raise the apparent Resource value of something for a scene. she must burn 4 motes for every point, and cannot raise the value by more than her Moe. OF course, you'd better be ready to abscond before you're found out...


Hide of the Cunning Hunter

  • Cost: 1 mote
  • Duration: One Day
  • Type: Speech
  • Minimum Manipulation: 1
  • Minimum Moe: 1
  • Prerequisite Charms: None

This suppresses your Tell and Fetishes, rendering them imperceptible so long as your anima banner does not rise above 3 motes.


Mask of the Stalking Predator

  • Cost: 4 motes
  • Duration: One Scene
  • Type: Speech
  • Minimum Manipulation: 2
  • Minimum Moe: 2
  • Prerequisite Charms: Hide of the Cunning Hunter

This hides your Tell and Fetishes if your anima banner remains at 7 motes or less

Shield of the Hidden God

  • Cost: 6 motes, 1 WP
  • Duration: One Scene
  • Type: Speech
  • Minimum Manipulation: 3
  • Minimum Moe: 3
  • Prerequisite Charms: Mask of the Stalking Predator

This hides your Tell and Fetishes if your anima banner remains at 10 motes or less.

Scent of the Herd

  • Cost: 3 motes
  • Duration: One Scene
  • Type: Speech
  • Minimum Manipulation: 2
  • Minimum Moe: 1
  • Prerequisite Charms: None

The Catgirl takes on the scent of a particular kind of animal; animals of that kind will treat her as one of their own. This does not guarantee friendliness, as predators may seem her as a rival. This also throws off any mundane tracking, though her new scent can be tracked normally if anyone thinks to look for it.

Scent of the Ally

  • Cost: 5 motes
  • Duration: One Scene
  • Type: Speech
  • Minimum Manipulation: 3
  • Minimum Moe: 2
  • Prerequisite Charms: Scent of the Herd

The Catgirl takes on the scent of a particular kind of animal; animals of that kind will treat her as one of their own. They regard her as part of their pack and will fight to defend her from outsiders. This doesn't mean they will like her FRIENDS, though...


Animal Companion

  • Cost: 5 motes / 1 WP / 1 XP
  • Duration: Instant
  • Type: Speech
  • Minimum Manipulation: 4
  • Minimum Moe: 2
  • Prerequisite Charms: Scent of the Ally

The repeated use of this charm can turn an animal into a familiar. Each use gives you one rank of familiar with the creature. The benefits do not kick in until you spend enough Familiar points for that size of familiar. You can have up to your Manipulation in Animal Companions.


Extend the Pack

  • Cost: 3 motes/person
  • Duration: One Scene
  • Type: Speech
  • Minimum Manipulation: 4
  • Minimum Moe: 2
  • Prerequisite Charms: Scent of the Ally

As Scent of the Ally, but now you can extend the benefits to one person for every three motes you spend, to a limit of your Manipulation + Moe.


Scent of the Alpha

  • Cost: 8 motes + 1 mote/die
  • Duration: One Scene
  • Type: Speech
  • Minimum Manipulation: 4
  • Minimum Moe: 3
  • Prerequisite Charms: Scent of the Ally

The Catgirl picks a kind of animal; animals of that species will view her as an Alpha and will tend to follow her lead; she can use Manipulation + Presence or Manipulation + Survival, whichever is better, to influence their behavior. You can buy 1 bonus die for every extra mote to a limit of your Manipulation.


Master of the Forest

  • Cost: 4 motes, 1 WP
  • Duration: One Scene
  • Type: Speech
  • Minimum Manipulation: 5
  • Minimum Moe: 4
  • Prerequisite Charms: Scent of the Alpha

Any animal you encounter must make a willpower check with a difficulty of your Moe or it innately defers to you. This won't cause animals of different species to necessarily cooperate, however.
