Catgirl Appearance Charms

Appearance charms usually deal with shapeshifting, though some deal with social situations.

Semblance of Belonging

  • Cost: 5 motes

The Catgirl takes on protective social coloring. she can act in accordance with local manners and customs effortlessly. she cannot botch any social roll for the duration of the scene, so long as she is acting in accordance with local customs, and need not roll to act according to local customs.

Social Camoflage

The Catgirl fades into the local scene, shifting appearance to resemble a local, her clothing altering to match local garb. she follows local customs easily, and can hardly be told from a native. Anyone trying to distinguish her from a local adds the Catgirl's Appearance to the difficulty. Anyone whose Perception + Moe is lower than the Catgirl's Appearance doesn't even get a roll, unless she is in a society where everyone knows each other on sight, in which case, they get a roll, but still have the penalty.


Steal Life

  • Cost: 15 motes
  • Duration: Indefinite
  • Type: Speech
  • Minimum Appearance: 5
  • Minimum Moe: 3
  • Prerequisite Charms: Social Camoflage

The Catgirl steals someone else's life, sliding into that person's social role, as if she had always been there. She must roll Appearance + Socialize; anyone whose Perception + Moe is less than her successes (and whose Moe is equal to her or less) will treat her as if she had always held whatever role she has seized. She can maintain this role so long as she is willing to commit the Moe. The person whose role was stolen will be seen as a stranger by those around her, likely regarded as a madman or liar, though her own social skills may be able to find some headway. If the Catgirl leaves her running around loose, anyway. This can only be used to steal a life where your gender will not be an issue, though you can use Far Side of the Moon to change your gender if necessary to blend in. (IE, if a Catgirl tries to steal the King's life, she needs to turn into a man if he's married and has kids...)

Craft Role

  • Cost: 8 motes, 1 WP
  • Duration: Indefinite
  • Type: Speech
  • Minimum Appearance: 5
  • Minimum Moe: 4
  • Prerequisite Charms: Steal Life

The Catgirl may craft a role for herself in any society and then step into it as if she had always been there. This role cannot be exactly the same as any pre-existant role and cannot contradict any roles too severely. If Jhandar already has a father named Alpho, you can't take on the role of Jhandar's father, but you could become the trusted advisor of the King, even if someone else is already a trusted advisor. Your role cannot alter pre-extant relationships, but can create new ones (you can't displace the husband from being married to his wife, but you could become his brother). Anyone whose Moe is less than yours can only overcome this by use of Charms; those of equal Moe may roll Perception + Socialize with a difficulty of your Moe to realize what is wrong. Those of higher Moe than you will not be fooled.


Form of Nature's Children

The Catgirl takes on the form of an animal between the size of a housecat and a deer / horse / elk / ox. The creature must be mundane. She gains the Strength, Stamina, natural attacks and natural movement of that animal, able to fly or operate underwater if appropriate. Reverting to her Birth Form is a free Re-fun action and ends the charm.

Animal Feature Prana

  • Cost: 5 motes
  • Duration: Indefinite
  • Type: Speech
  • Minimum Appearance: 3
  • Minimum Moe: 2
  • Prerequisite Charms: Form of Nature's Children

This charm lets you assume one small or sensory feature of some kind of animal--you could gain the scenting abilities of a hound and track by scent, the echolocation of a bat, etc. Attack capabilities must be gained with combat charms. You can gain gills to operate underwater with this charm. This will not enable you to fly if you grow wings, however; you still weigh too much.

Deep-Sea Travel Method

  • Cost: 7 motes
  • Duration: Indefinite
  • Type: Speech
  • Minimum Appearance: 4
  • Minimum Moe: 3
  • Prerequisite Charms: Animal Feature Prana

The Catgirl grows gills and becomes adapted for swimming. She can swim at Moe * normal running speed.


Wings of the Raptor

  • Cost: 7 motes
  • Duration: Indefinite
  • Type: Speech
  • Minimum Appearance: 4
  • Minimum Moe: 3
  • Prerequisite Charms: Animal Feature Prana

The Catgirl sprouts bird or bat wings. she can fly at Moe * normal running speed. Long-term flying (non-combat-time) is fatiguing; she must make fatigue checks as if wearing armor, adding +2 to the difficulty. This charm lowers the difficulty to detect your animal features by one.

Humble Mouse Shape

  • Cost: 3 motes
  • Duration: Indefinite

The Catgirl takes on the form of an animal between the size of a housecat and a mouse. The creature must be mundane. she gains the Strength, Stamina, natural attacks and natural movement of that animal, able to fly or operate underwater if appropriate. Reverting to her Birth Form is a free action and ends the charm.


Towering Beast Form

  • Cost: 7 motes
  • Duration: Indefinite
  • Type: Speech
  • Minimum Appearance: 3

The Catgirl takes on the form of an animal between the size of a deer / horse / elk / ox and that of a Thunder Lizard. The creature must be mundane. She gains the Strength, Stamina, natural attacks and natural movement of that animal, able to fly or operate underwater if appropriate. Reverting to her Birth Form is a free action and ends the charm.

Visage of the Supernal

  • Cost: 5 motes, 1 WP
  • Duration: Indefinite
  • Type: Speech
  • Minimum Appearance: 4
  • Minimum Moe: 3
  • Prerequisite Charms: Form of Nature's Children

The Catgirl can now take on supernatural creature forms, limited by the charm she knows for mundane animals as to size. She gains the Strength, Stamina, natural attacks and natural movement of that animal, able to fly or operate underwater if appropriate. Reverting to her Birth Form is a free action and ends the charm.


Don the Unhallowed Visage.

  • Cost: 7 motes, 1 WP
  • Duration: Indefinite
  • Type: Speech

  • Prerequisite Charms: Mask of the Changing Moon, Visage of the Supernal

The Catgirl may imitate any Fair Folk or Demons of up to the Second Circle, gaining their Strength and Stamina and any physical attacks or movement capacities. Her expended Moe remains committed while she stays in this form.

The Catgirl must have seen the being she is imitating; a picture or personal account won't do, but she need not even touch the person to be mimiced.


Assume the Mask of Darkness

  • Cost: 12 motes, 1 WP
  • Duration: Indefinite
  • Type: Speech

  • Prerequisite Charms: Don the Unhallowed Visage.

The Catgirl may now imitate Third Circle Demons, gaining their Strength and Stamina and any physical attacks or movement capacities. her expended Moe remains committed while she stays in this form.

Semblance of the Dead

  • Cost: 7 motes, 1 WP
  • Duration: Indefinite

The Catgirl may imitate any Ghost or other human-sized denizen of the Underworld, gaining their Strength and Stamina and any physical attacks or movement capacities. Her expended Moe remains committed while she stays in this form.

Visage of Divine Grace

  • Cost: 7 motes, 1 WP
  • Duration: Indefinite
  • Type: Speech

The Catgirl may imitate any God or Spirit short of the Incarna, gaining their Strength and Stamina and any physical attacks or movement capacities. Her expended Moe remains committed while she stays in this form.

The Catgirl must have seen the being she is imitating; a picture or personal account won't do, but she need not even touch the person to be mimiced.

Subtle Shifting

  • Cost: 1 mote
  • Duration: Instant
  • Type: Re-fun
  • Minimum Appearance: 3
  • Minimum Moe: 1

The Catgirl may change one aspect of her shape with this charm--hair color, eye color, height, weight, etc. This cannot be used to mimic specific people, but can be used repeatedly to fully disguise yourself.


Far Side of the Moon

  • Cost: 3 motes

  • Minimum Moe: 2
  • Prerequisite Charms: Subtle Shifting

The Catgirl switches gender, gaining all the biological baggage and capabilities thereof.


Mask of the Changing Moon

  • Cost: 5 motes
  • Duration: Instant
  • Type: Speech
  • Minimum Appearance: 4
  • Minimum Moe: 3
  • Prerequisite Charms: Far Side of the Moon

The Catgirl may now imitate a specific human being. she is on her own to actually move like / act like that person, but her imitation is physically flawless. she remains in that form until she shifts out of it. her attributes remain those of her Birth Form.

The Catgirl must have seen the person she is imitating; a picture or personal account won't do, but she need not even touch the person to be mimiced.

This may also be used to simply assume a completely customized human form in one jump.


Assumption of the Mind's Mask

  • Cost: 6 motes
  • Duration: Instant
  • Type: Speech
  • Minimum Appearance: 5
  • Minimum Moe: 3
  • Prerequisite Charms: Mask of the Changing Moon

The Catgirl's mind is shifted to match her form; she now has the appropriate mannerisms, making her behavior hard to tell from the real thing if she 'stays in character'. She adds her Appearance as a bonus to any checks made to avoid being detected as a fraud.

Perfect Lover

  • Cost: 8 motes
  • Duration: Indefinite
  • Type: Speech
  • Minimum Appearance: 5
  • Minimum Moe: 3
  • Prerequisite Charms: Mask of the Changing Moon

The Catgirl appeals to Luna to make her the perfect lover for someone. She changes shape to fit their ideal of physical beauty (which may include changing gender...), and takes on mannerisms pleasing to them. The Catgirl may comfortably engage in whatever sexual practices her chosen beloved finds appealing, though she need not do so if she chooses not to. Furthermore, she gets a feel for what sort of sex they prefer. Her chosen target can resist her come-ons only by either scoring successes on a Temperance check equal to her Moe or else burning willpower. (Though the target retains enough self control to try to get out of any dangerous situations before proceding to other activities.) She has a strong influence over her lover's behavior outside sexual encounters, able to add her Appearance as bonus dice to any social pool with regard to that lover.

Catgirls may use this with animals; such matings lead to beastmen. However, she must have enough animal shifting charms to take on the right species' shape.
