The Blue Silk Raiders

The Blue Silk Raiders are a group of Oni who have taken to imitating the desert nomads of the South. Their lack of entire comprehension shows in the fact that while they copy the clothing styles and mounts of the South, they make their clothing entirely out of blue silk, which no desert nomad is likely to wear. This also tends to mean people see them coming from a long ways off.

Their home base is a beautiful oasis which is a shaped region of Oniboshi which has broken through in the southern deserts, to the east of Artai. There, they maintain a permanent tent city and their slaves grow them the fruits and vegetables which they supplement with meat from desert animals and spices stolen on raids. They treasure spices and metals most of all, often leaving behind anything else.

They have a great love of song and mystical dances, and enjoy singing in the middle of their raids to entice and confuse their foes.

The Ragnarok Gang controlled the nearby nation of Artai, when the Satrap apparently accidentally shot herself in the face with a firewand seven or eight times, after writing orders which sent her troops out to attack the Blue Silk Raiders. Said troops never came back, mysteriously enough, except for one lone drunken soul who returned claiming that all of the senior officers had died of poison and then the Blue Silk Raiders cut off and slaughtered the troops, despite a stirring performance of 'Rally Around the Pole' by the unit's expert Morris Dancers.

It can be expected that the Ragnarok Gang will retaliate, when it can find the resources to do so...
