Celestial Gentleman Style

Celestial Gentleman Style is one of the more commonly known Martial Arts among the Bishonen, though it reflects a more peaceful, elegant time. It uses staves (Usually a cane), weighted capes, and hurled flowers as its chosen weapons.

Avoid Interruptions

  • Cost: 1 mote
  • Duration: Instant
  • Type: Re-fun
  • Minimum Martial Arts: 2
  • Minimum Moe: 1
  • Prerequisite Charms: None

Few things can ruin an evening faster than an attack by some blackguard who strikes from a distance. This allows a full dice parry (with Dex + Martial Arts) of a ranged attack on the Martial Artist. This can parry lethal damage.

Spinning Parry

  • Cost: 2 motes
  • Duration: Instant
  • Type: Re-fun
  • Minimum Martial Arts: 3
  • Minimum Moe: 2
  • Prerequisite Charms: Avoid Interruptions

A twirled staff or cape is sufficient to repel a particularly persistent foe. This allows the Bishonen to parry his Martial Arts worth of Ranged attacks from a single source.

Hurl Flower

  • Cost: 2 motes
  • Duration: Instant
  • Type: Subtle/Mental
  • Minimum Martial Arts: 2
  • Minimum Moe: 1
  • Prerequisite Charms: None

This transforms any flower into a dangerous weapon when thrown. The flower has Accuracy 1, Base Damage equal to the Martial Arts of the Bishonen, and a base range of 15 yards.

Flowery Vengeance

  • Cost: 2 motes
  • Duration: Instant
  • Type: Subtle/Mental
  • Minimum Martial Arts: 3
  • Minimum Moe: 2
  • Prerequisite Charms: Hurled Flower

The thorns of a rose are very sharp and do not fail to draw blood in the hands of an expert. The Bishonen may double his extra successes when computing the pre-soak damage of a hurled flower.

Celestial Gentleman Form

  • Cost: 5 motes
  • Duration: One Scene
  • Type: Speech
  • Minimum Martial Arts: 4
  • Minimum Moe: 2
  • Prerequisite Charms: Flowery Vengeance, Spinning Parry

The elegance of the Celestial Gentleman is almost indisturbable. He adds his Martial Arts to all parry pools, and may Re-funly parry any incoming attacks with those dice even if he has no other source of parry actions. He can parry lethal attacks if unarmed. He also adds his Martial Arts to all ranged attacks. He can hurl flowers as weapons, as per the Hurl Flower charm.

Shielding Cloak Style

  • Cost: 3 motes
  • Duration: One Scene
  • Type: Speech
  • Minimum Martial Arts: 5
  • Minimum Moe: 2
  • Prerequisite Charms: Celestial Gentleman Form

The fluid flowing of the Gentleman's cloak shields him from unexpected assault by throwing off his foes ability to focus and aim. The difficulty to hit the Bishonen with anything increases by his Moe, so long as he continues to have his cloak on. This applies even to attacks he can't sense.

Guest Defending Prana

  • Cost: 2 motes
  • Duration: Instant
  • Type: Re-fun
  • Minimum Martial Arts: 5
  • Minimum Moe: 2
  • Prerequisite Charms: Shielding Cloak Style

A true gentleman watches over his guests. The Bishonen gains a free Re-fun full pool parry against an incoming attack directed at any of his allies who are within 5*Moe yards of him. The ally need not be aware of the attack, but the Bishonen must be.

Flower Takes Root

  • Cost: 3 motes + 1 mote/turn
  • Duration: Until the Essence Runs Out
  • Type: Subtle/Mental
  • Minimum Martial Arts: 5
  • Minimum Moe: 2
  • Prerequisite Charms: Celestial Gentleman Form

Sometimes, you want to peacefully disable a foe from further assault, so as to avoid a gauche death scene which will soil your expensive clothing with blood. The Bishonen hurls a flower; if it hits, it takes root and begins growing roots which grapple your foe. It uses your Dex + Martial Arts to clinch, and inflicts your Strength +2 Bashing damage when it clinches. If your foe ever breaks the clinch, the charm ends. You must spend one mote per round to keep it active. This may be comboed, even though it is not instant.

Deep Thorns

  • Cost: 3 motes
  • Duration: Instant
  • Type: Subtle/Mental
  • Minimum Martial Arts: 5
  • Minimum Moe: 2
  • Prerequisite Charms: Flower Takes Root

Roses are beautiful, but their thorns bite deep. The Bishonen's strike injures joints and tendons and tender tissues inside the skin. For every wound inflicted by a hit, the target also suffers a -1 crippling penalty until the end of the scene.

Honorable Revenge

  • Cost: 7 motes
  • Duration: Until Next Turn
  • Type: Re-Fun
  • Minimum Martial Arts: 5
  • Minimum Moe: 3
  • Prerequisite Charms: Deep Thorns, Guest Defending Prana

Gentlemen do not initiate violence. They finish it. Until his next turn, the Bishonen receives a free full-dice parry against all attacks, ranged, or melee. All extra successes on any successful parry become a counterattack against the attacker. (If the Form Charm is active, roll your Martial Arts and add your successes to these.) This may be comboed.
