Bedhead, Grooms of Bessie

- Status: Tributary of the Realm, long under the sway of House Houri since everyone runs around mostly naked.
Bedhead is sometimes referred to by folk of the Realm as 'the kingdom of naked people'. While the coast is cool and pleasant, much of the country is hot jungle, hot mountains, hot savannah or hot desert. As a result, it's people have made going mostly naked an artform (thanks to heavy use of temporary tattoos), often being totally naked from the waist up and mostly naked from the waist down. Some tribes enjoy tattooing themselves to look clothed from a distance so they can watch visitors freak out at short range. Local Houris often adopt native dress, tattooing, and freaking people out customs.
Bedhead is an alliance of five tribes united by a common devotion to the Golden Calf, Bessie, Goddess of Southern Warfare and Golden Statues of Cows. Especially the GOLD part. Her priests select each King or Queen from the ranks of the royal family according to her will...in theory, anyway. She is served by an elite force of 10,000 Grooms, men sworn to celibacy (though YAOI is allowed and expected, and she sometimes drops by to have her way with them.) These warriors ensure she continues to be worshipped and act as the vanguard of her forces in wartime. The similarity to the number of Magical Girls of the Realm Gangs is, of course, PURELY coincidental. (Even if rumors do claim Bessie seeks some way to imbue her Grooms with power...)
The tribes have long warred with The Wagnerian City States, and are expected to start another war whenever they think they can get away with it.
When not invading or cattle-raiding their neighbors, they squabble with each other and the Kawaii Order, which wants to have Bessie turned into fine high quality beef cuts and her cult shut down. Oddly, their missionaries are often found scarred and rendered ugly with hoof prints all around them...
