All of the charms in the combo are reflexive; effectively, the martial artist can add dice, increase the dv penalty of attacks against him, defend against unexpected attacks or perfectly defend if need be, and counterattack.)

Tactics:
Working off a player interested in honourable combat, this character is, I think, best in a duel setting. This build is designed to be very difficult to kill, but is quite beastman focused due to the choice of knacks. Beastman will raise most combat pools by 4, as well as giving movement and soak. High DVs and comboed defensive charms make it tricky to punch through to score a hit; and any hit that does land is converted to bashing damage by the stone of adamant skin, which is healed at a level per round by Bruise Relief when in Beastman mode. Ideally, the character uses their extremely quick speed (3 with their sword when the form charm is active) and essence regaining charms to press an offensive; fury uses Might Bolstering Blow to regain motes with Secure Cat and Golden Tiger to keep DVs high when attacking.
The Quivering Reed combo makes the character nearly untouchable while cutting away at the DVs of anyone who attacks you; once the target's DVs are lowered use the Honourable Ending to drop damage and penalties on your enemies on the next action.
Notes: Personally, I would cut out a few knacks; Emerald Grasshopper and Changing Plumage, most likely. I would instead buy Instinctive Attribute Unity, and probably a Wits excellency, and then the top charm of the martial arts tree. With more experience, I would recommend strength charms. I've also not included any plot-heavy backgrounds like allies that I would normally deploy, not knowing the plot.
