The dragonblooded stood victorious over the dying monster. The monster's beautiful visage twisted in the pain of defeat, for she had not the will to get up again. As her foe raised his blade, she looked up at the shape swooping in towards her. The fool, seeing a threat ducked back his sword raised in readiness. The behemoth all tooth and claw descended, on wings of bone to feed on the ungrateful master it had served so faithfully. On flesh and shape it dined, gnawing delicately upon the heart. Then the grim task complete it ascended to the sky, loosing a call to stir all to fright with knowledge of the dreadful revenge to be reaped for the loss of so beautiful a creature into death's embrace.
