dg-ST· Session Four: Cloaks and Daggers

  • Oaryet having just finished his talk with Delicate Petal, and with the hour being so late, shall return post-haste to the ship.
  • Oaryet gets up early the next morning, as usual, and does some light stretches and exercises as he waits for others to awake.

·dg-ST· Morning light covers the large city of Paragon with copper and pink. Everything is quiet and peaceful.

  • Unrepentant_Glory grumbles "Aparently, this petal, has dsallowed all trade of gems to us"

·Unrepentant_Glory· "the traders can no longer trade them to us, or they die"

  • Oaryet nods. "Yes, she said she had to me. She has conditions that we must meet before she will let

anyone trade us gems or metals."

·Unrepentant_Glory· What conditions?

·Unrepentant_Glory· "because, until we end thi sembargo or find a way around it, they have us by the..."

  • Enarae looks thoughtful, then looks to Oaryet... "How did she know that we needed gems, Oaryet? Since she could not know from our search, since she alerted them ahead of time?"

·Oaryet· "We must allow her to come onto the ship, give her a tour of the inside, and allow her to assist in the repairs. She believes that she was one of the original makers of this ship in a previous life. The necklace that tried to strangle our friend she did not know about its power and even though she assures us the Perfect will do much to make it up to us, we still wont be getting gems."

·Oaryet· "She seems to know a great deal about the Shrike as well. In my opinion I don't think any of them here are in any way actually interested in helping us, only themselves and using us for that goal."

  • Oaryet says this all in a crisp tone as he reports on the events of last night and his conclusions of it.

·Zhumaydan· "That is why they can be trusted."

•Enarae• "What all did you tell her about the Shrike?"

·Unrepentant_Glory· "A previous life?"

·Zhumaydan· "As long as we can make it certain that their goals serve ours."

·Unrepentant_Glory· "How would she know?

•Enarae• "That too is why I am curious she knew to shut down gem sales before we were there, Glory... so, Oaryet?"

·Zhumaydan· "Previous life?"

·Unrepentant_Glory· Enarae, i wonder if much gets back to her that we do not kno wabout

•Enarae• "I mean, why would she need to see the inside or ask questions if she can remember making it?"

·Oaryet· "I don't know how she knows, but she believes it and thus has a possessive attitude to the Shrike, seeing it as more rightfully hers then ours. She knew the part of the ship that had been damaged, its not like we were keeping that a secret. So I assume that between learning that and when I visited her she made sure we needed her to fix it."

·Unrepentant_Glory· "this worries me more and more"

•Enarae• "So, you didn't tell her anything about what we needed, and asked more than you answered?"

·Unrepentant_Glory· "Lethe should erase all previous memerioes, but... here we have someone who claims to have some, and knows things she shouldnt"

•Enarae• "Oaryet... what did you tell her?"

·Oaryet· "I did say we needed gems to make the repairs. It became very clear early on in the conversation she had no real interest in me or us beyond just using us to get at the Shrike."

  • Enarae fixes a very jaded eye on him while asking.

·Zhumaydan· "We all have strange abilities, brother. Some must be stranger than most."

·Unrepentant_Glory· "Zhumaydan, very true, then we must be on our guard more than ever before"

  • Enarae sighs... "See, she fixed the gem sales AFTER speaking to Oaryet... she doesn't know anything about the ship other than what he has told her."

·Unrepentant_Glory· "Ah."

  • Oaryet shakes his head. "No...she knew the proper name for the vent that was damaged, I did not tell her that."

·Oaryet· "She also knows that normally it would take large teams to properly repair the Shrike."

·Oaryet· "I believe she means to try to keep it, she displayed a definit attitude of possession towards it during our talk."

•Enarae• "But, it matters not... the teams is an easy guess to make... large ships take a good number of people to fix...

•Enarae• "And this is our ship... and I have another supply of gems, and I think we'll be able to get them easily enough."

·Oaryet· "It is my assessment that trying such will antagonize her and will lead to a confrontation between us and them."

·Unrepentant_Glory· Enarae, according to the gem merchant i spoke to, she was told the night BEFORE Oaryet spoke to her about the gems to halt any sales"

·Unrepentant_Glory· "And disobeying her would most likely cause death here"

• Enarae gives a small smile. "I don't care... she's not getting on this ship, she's not getting to stop us, and we're leaving"

•Enarae• "So, you want to give her access to a ship she considers hers... is willing to kill for, and that is capable of leveling cities?"

·Oaryet· "it would be unwise of us to let her aboard the ship."

·Zhumaydan· "I have had enough of this cloak-and-dagger nonsense."

•Enarae• "I hate to say it, but Glory... maybe your sense of the greater good is not quite on today."

·Zhumaydan· "If she refuses to treat with us straightforwardly, then I will treat HER straightforwardly."

  • Zhumaydan picks up Vermillion Heart and walks off.

•Enarae• "There is a tribe outside the city who will give us aid, in supplies."

·Oaryet· "For what?"

·Unrepentant_Glory· Enarae?

•Enarae• "For our friendship, and to accomplish something we had already agreed on."

·Unrepentant_Glory· How so Enarae?

• Oaryet then notices Zhumaydan leaving and looks to her. "Where are you going Z?"

·Unrepentant_Glory· "Sister?"

•Enarae• "Can you wait for one moment, Zhumaydan?"

·Oaryet· "Oh, there was also one other thing I noticed during my talks with Delicate Petal. She had charms of some kind up, though I don't know which ones exactly." Gets up and follows after Z, not sure what she is likely planning is the smartest of moves.

·Zhumaydan· The treespear bursts into flames as she turns around. It seems to be making a mark on the ceiling. "I'm going to clean up this mess."

•Enarae• "The Perfect and his circle are tyrants of the worst kind... this tribe dislikes it. They wish to draw him down. We aid them in this, in return, they shall not harm the people of the city and shall give us the supplies we need for the ship."

·Zhumaydan· "I don't think I should stand in one place very long, so make it quick."

•Enarae• "Anyway, it's time for me to meet with him again... Don't kill anyone to long before we're ready to take off Zhumaydan."

  • Zhumaydan nods shortly and vanishes.
  • Oaryet turns to Enarae. "Do you want a gaurd with you?"
  • Enarae walks out. "Make sure to lock up and set the defenses... and no, I'll be fine alone."

·Oaryet· "Very well, I suppose then I shall remain here to gaurd the Shrike."

  • Oaryet will pull out a book and sit down in his room and read and think of nice girls like Enarae and Zhumaydan.
