Time Interrupt Device:
This is a Level 4 Artifact created by a player in my Gates Across Worlds campaign. It pretty much should be Level 5, but that doesn't matter much for Alchemicals anyway.

This one-of-a-kind device resembles nothing much more than a translucent crystal attached to a few starmetal wires. It can be fit onto any article of clothing, armor, or weapons, the only requirement be that it is touching the skin or attached to an attuned item. Attunement to this device costs 5 motes.

Affect
By reflexively spending 5 motes, the bearer may stop time, if only for a few seconds. During this time, he may reposition himself to dodge an attack (this counts as a perfect defense and may also be a hopping defense).
Alternatively, the Exalt may use the device to move to any location he could reach in a full round, say to evade enemies.
Finally, the Exalt may position himself to launch an attack using his full dice pool on one opponent. Striking the opponent or otherwise altering any other object in "true time" immediately breaks the effect.
This artifact may be used once per round

Comments

I wouldn't consider it overpowered at all. Sounds in-line for the upper artifact levels, single effect that costs a significant amount of Essence to use. I might actually extend it slightly if I was you though. The crunch could easily become "Reflexive: Once per round. Spend 5 motes to gain an Independant Action beginning on this initiative tick. Resolve the action and all split actions before resolving any others. After affecting any other object with an action, this Independant Action ends.". Of course, that might not be any simpler to most people. -- Somori

Thanks, my group tends to be very "casual" gamers (we like to make up stuff as we go) so a legalize rules listing doesn't mean much. The party hasn't really run into any extremely difficult fights so far, the character that owns the artifact usually uses it to get off perfect attacks and look cool, although he did obliterate one Dragon-Blooded trying to escape on a Stormwind Rider. --StalkerofShadows
