Beast Hybrid Method
Cost: 15 motes
Duration: One Scene
Type: Simple
Minimum Survival: 5
Minimum Essence: 3
Perquisite Charms: Bestial Traits Technique
Through the use of this Charm, the character can grace his body to perform as if he were both a human and an animal. The character must have a familiar or Spirit-Tied Pet. Upon activating this Charm, the character may take a number of beneficial Wyld mutations appropiate to a half-man, half-(that breed of animal) beastman hybrid equal to his Essence. These mutations are not permanent, and so do not come with the normal downsides of Wyld mutations. The Solar actually gains these mutations in the flesh, growing new flesh or feathers or fins as neccessary.

Animalistic Hero's Dedication
Cost: None
Duration: Permanent
Type: Special
Minimum Survival: 5
Minimum Essence: 4
Perquisite Charms: Beast Hybrid Method
The Solar commits himself wholly to the ideal of his familiar's innate power and their relationship's potential. He may buy a single mutation available to him via Beast Hybrid Method as a permanent Charm. The only way to unlearn this Charm, losing the mutation and the experience spent on it, is by shattering his connection with his animal companion-- killing his familiar or Spirit-Tied Pet. Though such animals normally enjoy superior script protection against untimely (or at least undramatic) death, a character who comes to truly regret his past decisions and oaths may decide to murder his own companion. Committing the crime requires the character to fail a number of consecutive Compassion rolls equal to the rating of his Familiar. Actually going through with such an act stains the character's metaphysical standing-- he gains the ire of the Animal Avatar of the dead familiar's species, all of which becomes immune to all use of the Friendship With Animals Approach. Less dangerous species will attempt to evade the character, while the enemy of a superpredator species such as hybroc or tyrant lizards will find themselves under immediate attack upon approaching the animal's territory. Being the greatest heroes of Creation, however, even deadly creatures will likely be inable to bring down one of the Solar Exalted.

Old Bones Forewarning
Cost: 5 motes
Duration: Instant
Type: Simple
Minimum Survival: 5
Minimum Essence: 3
Perquisite Charms: Storm Warden Concentration
The Solar is sensitive to the slightest shifts in temperature, barometric pressure, and other indicators of the weather. The Solar can infalliably predict the weather a number of days ahead equal to his Essense. This Charm cannot predict changes wrought by magic, though if the character reactivates the Charm after a change has begun, he may predict the weather as normal barring any additional magical influences.

Storm-Calling Authority
Cost: 10 motes, 1 Willpower
Duration: One Hour
Type: Simple
Minimum Survival: 5
Minimum Essence: 4
Perquisite Charms: Old Bones Forewarning, Sun's Flaming Tongue Attack
The heroes of the sun retain the power and authority of their patron to call down not only holy flames, but any such punishment as the sky the Sun rules over can provide. Some Solars dance, others sing or shout or pray, but upon activating this Charm, an uncertain, troubling breeze begins to blow. By the end of the tenth turn, a full-blown storm has gathered. The storm will be appropiate to the terrain-- ice storms on a glacier, duststorms in the desert, sudden thunderstorms both at land and sea. The storm lasts for one hour unless the Solar uncommits the essence from the Charm early.

The use of this Charm is recorded in the Bureau of Seasons. While its use is legal, the Bureau can provide information to those curious as to when, where, and what kind of weather the Solar has been calling up to anyone with Bureau of Seasons connections.

Comments

Hey, hope you don't mind, but I noticed while I was reorganizing the Survival Charms by edition that your Charms layout here didn't have any markers for html or wikicode, so I tried to 'tidy' them up to make them a little easier to read.

Also, while I do get the idea of what you were going for with the first two Charms, it always sort of struck me that physical and particularly animal-like transformations just weren't a Solar's bag. Inherantly, at least. Maybe with Sorcery, which bends the rules anyway, but stuff like Beast Hybrid Method and Animalistic Hero's Dedication just feel more like Lunar Charms in a Solar hat. On that note though, Animalistic Hero's Dedication is flufftastic and the effect is decent too. I adore it, just not as a Solar Charm. -- Greymane
