The Exalt catches an unaware opponent completely by surprise, attacking before she has a chance to react. When using this charm, the character automatically wins initiative over a single opponent who does not expect the attack. This could be because she is unaware of the character, doesn't see his weapon, is conversing politely with him, or any similar circumstance.

The Exalt encases himself and his victim in smothering folds of essence, while driving the breath from his victim's lungs. All sound created by the attack, be it the rustle of leaves as the exalt takes the final steps toward his target or the snap of a rib cracked by his blade, are silenced. Furthermore, the target of the attack is unable to speak, and is at -1 to all dice pools from shock and asphyxiation, for a number of turns equal to the attacker's Essence.
