Natural Weapons

A Lunar is able to hone the instruments of destruction built into her flesh into veritable masterpieces of destruction! This Charm allows the Lunar to enhance his Natural Weapons with special features named Edges. Upon purchasing this Charm the character receives a single Edge and becomes able to purchase additional ones at the cost of 1 Experience Point each.

No single Natural Weapon may be enhanced with more Edges than the Lunar has dots of Permanent Essence.

Once an Edge is set as part of a weapon it cannot be changed.

Edges include:

  • Argent Heart Lash: The Lunar's weapon enlongates like a sharp stinger or lean tentacles! Increase the reach of the Weapon by the Lunar's Wits in yards. This Edge may be applied to a single weapon more than once, each time counting as a new Edge added.
  • Mighty Bull Horns: The Lunar's weapon becomes pointed and hard, able to charge through foes and obstacles alike. Double the Weapon's base damage when in a charge.
  • Savage Silver Talons: The Lunar's weapon is hardened into a merciless killing instrument, its edges flashing blood-red under the moonlight! The Weapon becomes able to deal Heroic Damage - counts all 10s rolled in damage rolls as 2 successes instead of one.
  • Horizon-Cutting Edge: The Lunar's weapon becomes sharper and mirages flow over its edge as it cuts light and air on its way. The weapon becomes Piercing, halving the soak of all armor defending against it.
  • Shifting Faces of the Moon: The Lunar's weapon shifts just as Luna shifts her phases - the Lunar may shift a number of points equal to his Essence from a weapon stat to another at the start of each and every turn of combat.
  • Flesh-Rending Talons: The weapon receives thousand tiny hooks on it, barbed uneven, made to skin. The weapon the weapon's base damage is doubled, but the defender's armour soak is doubled again it.
  • Tide-Breaking Scepter: Each strike of this weapon is accompanied by the sound of currents moving under the moonlight, or some other sound of a calm water's movement, just at the moment of impact. It can always inflict knockback at the user's option, the distance of which is tripled. (I.e., one damage die, before soak, results in one yard of knockback.)
  • Scepter of Endless Change: The weapon becomes something impossible, out of a dream, a chorus of crystallized dreams echoing around it, as it receives the authority of Luna over the tides of the Wyld. With this Edge, the natural weapon becomes a Shaping Weapon of the Sword.
  • Ghost-Beast Touch: The weapon becomes ethereal, its edge fading into moonlight into the infinity of the divine world. The Lunar's natural weapon becomes able to damage immaterial spirits as if they were materialized.
  • Shape-Drinking Razors: The weapon drinks from the enemy's wounds, giving the Lunar back 2 motes for every Health Level dealt on the enemies. This does not drain their essence - the Lunar is instead draining their shape, already taken in the Health Levels. The Lunar may not recover more motes per turn than his Stamina+Endurance per attack.
  • Diamond-Vise Jaws: The weapon is like a wolf's jaw or a scorpion's claw, designed to hold its prey still while they are devoured. This Edge makes the Natural Weapon a Clinch Enhancer.
  • Shimmering First of Gaia: The weapon becomes heavier, stronger, but blunt, its edges dulled, more like a serpent’s constricting body or a great round bone at the tip of a beast’s tail than an elegant blade. It receives primordial strength for the price of its ability to kill! The Lunar adds his Essence to the weapon’s damage, but the weapon can now only deal Bashing Damage.
  • Cunning Porcupine Defense: The weapon covers the Lunar's body as ten thousand spines! The Weapon deals the Lunar's Essence in extra damage when in a Clinch, and all those attacking the Lunar barehanded receive damage equal to the Lunar's Essence in Lethal Damage, soaked normally with a Minimum Damage of 0. This damage is dealt - automatic - at the start of a Clinch.
  • Razored Feline Smile: The weapon can be hidden by the Lunar for the cost of 1 mote. For all intents and purposes it cannot be seen by any enemy until the Lunar extrudes the weapon again by paying 1 mote once again. No mundane perception can perceive such hidden weapons. Characters using Charms to perceive the Lunar's fighting capabilities will notice the hidden weapons.

Lunars may develop and teach Edges to other Lunars. Learning an Edge has the same training time as a Specialty.

Argent Arsenal Method

Sharpening slivers of her shard the Lunar creates Moonsilver weapons out of her very flesh! Upon purchase of this Charm the Lunar creates a Natural Weapon that has a number of points to distribute between its Statistics (Speed, Accuracy, Damage, Defense and Rate) equal to twice her highest virtue. Each point allocated gives +1 to Accuracy and Defense, +2 to Damage and Rate or +3 to Speed. The weapon starts with a Rate of 1 and base damage equal to the Virtue the weapon is based on.

This weapon may be appear as anything from claws to teeth, from horns to silver webbing that can shred the soul. Many of those can be better simulated by applying one or more Edges acquired with Thousand-Moon Arsenal. Those weapons count as Moonsilver weapons without a Magical Material Bonus and allow the Lunar to parry lethal damage unarmed without a Stunt.

This Charm may be bought up to four times and each time it affords the Lunar a new Natural Weapon based of one of the Lunar's Virtues. The first time it is purchased it must be based on the Lunar's Highest Virtue, but the Lunar can choose which to use in each subsequent purchase. The Lunar can always channel this Virtue in all actions involving the Natural Weapon.

Activating this Charm allows all of them to be manifested at once for the same cost.

This Charm is a Gift and may be activated in when the Lunar shifts into a Hybrid Form. The Lunar commits 3 motes to have access to a single natural weapon for as long as he remains in the Hybrid Form. He may manifest others upon transformation in this way, but further weapons only require one extra mote of commitment.


Deadly Urchin Blossom

Shapeshifting is sometimes like the blossoming of a flower. With this Charm the Lunar can spread his spikes like an infinite flower whose thorns rip apart all those around him! This Charm requires the Lunar to have a Natural Weapon possessing either of the Argent Heart Lash or Cunning Porcupine Defense Edges. The Lunar makes a single attack against all enemies within his Stamina in yards in all directions. The weapons slide back into the Lunar's body when the attack finishes.

The Lunar sinks a weapon into her flesh and makes it an extension of her body, a Natural Weapon for all intents and purposes. As long as the weapon remains sunk in his flesh all attacks with it become unarmed attacks that can be made with Melee, Brawl or Martial Arts.

The weapon's balance is perfected as part of the Lunar's form, receiving +1 to its Accuracy, Defense and Rate.

The Lunar may allocate a number of Edges he knows to this weapon as soon as he enacts this Charm, although he may not allocate more Edges to the weapon than the weapon's Artifact or Resources rating plus one. This Charm is a Gift and may be activated in when the Lunar shifts into a Hybrid Form. The Lunar commits 3 motes to meld all weapons he carries into his Form upon the transformation.

Sting-Genesis Prana
Cost: 5 motes, 1 willpower

The Lunar Exalted with this charm is able to create ammunition, be it creating any type of ivory arrows from his bones, turning feathers into sharp, balanced throwing knives, or even pulling flowing silver chakrams out of her tatoos.

The Lunar chooses a single form of ammunition she wishes to create when she activates this Charm, and for the remainder of the Scene may reflexively spend 1 Health Level to create a number of ammunition equal to her Strength+Essence which she can draw as a reflexive action. This Charm is a Gift and may be activated in when the Lunar shifts into a Hybrid Form. The Lunar commits 4 motes to be able to pick a number of projectiles from his flesh equal to his Perception every turn.

Eye of the Feathered Whirlwind Concentration
Cost: 10 motes, 1 willpower, 1 Health Level
Duration: One Scene

The Lunar focuses his essence for a moment... then explodes in a multitude of weapons that surrounded her form like a tornado. All those attempting to strike at the Lunar for the remainder of the Scene receive Cover Difficulty equal to the Lunar's Essence and should they attempt a melee attack must soak the created ammunition's damage rating (be it arrows in the shape of bone slivers, daggers in the shape of adamant feathers or whatever else the Lunar's imagination and Totem can conjure.) The Lunar may take a number of pieces from the whirlwind around her as ammunition to her attacks equal to her Perception rating every turn. This does not deplete the Feathered Whirlwind - as most Lunar abilities, it is forever growing.

Arrow of All Moons
Cost: 8 motes

Prerequisite Charms: Sting-Genesis Prana
Imbuing a projectile with his protean nature the Lunar causes them to blossom like a flower of the sharpest petals! This Charm spreads a single project of once-living matter into a number of different attacks en route to its attacker, applying this single attack a number of times equal to the Lunar's Essence.

Deadly Moonsilver Flock
Cost: 5 motes, 1 willpower, 1 health level per bird
Duration: Instant
Type: Simple
Minimum Strength: 5
Minimum Essence: 5
Prerequisite Charms: Arrow of All Moons
The Lunar touches his moonsilver tatoos and rips them out of his flesh, letting them loose in the air... and turning them into beautiful moonsilver birds, flying towards his opponents as birds towards their prey! The Lunar creates a number of Moonsilver Birds equal to half his Essence(rounded up). The Birds are considered Natural Weapons to which Edges may be applied. The Lunar makes a single ranged combat attack applied to an opponent once per Bird. Each Bird has the statistics of a Moonsilver Thrown Weapon.

The moonsilver birds do not disappear; Instead, they proceed to attack once again in the following turn, indepedently from the Lunar. They act in the same initiative tick that they originally acted in, with the same number of successes and the same charm enhancements as before at no cost for the Lunar. They continue to do so for a number of extra turns equal to the Lunar's Essence.

Only the Moonsilver Bird's destruction will halt their onslaught. Each bird counts as an Extra for purposes of damage and are at a difficulty equal to the creating Lunar's Essence to be struck. Their Bashing and Lethal Soak totals are equal to the Lunar's Willpower. The Birds cannot cannot defend themselves. When the Birds kill their target the Lunar can reassign them to another target within their range - but the range is dependent on their current point to their target, regardless of the Lunar's own location.

The Lunar cannot activate this Charm again until all birds have been destroyed.
