Shataina/ShatainaContest
Shataina's Contest Description

- back to Shataina.
White Wolf had a contest to see who got to be on the "Player's Guide". Shataina got third place. On the cover, she's round the back right next to the spine, in profile; her hair appears brown, but it's secretly red. On the inside cover, her sketch is the bottom centre one.
75-word description
Exalt: Solar
Caste: Zenith
Sunlight falls first upon Shataina's hair, shining like burnished copper. The Sun has streaked it bronze and scarlet, flushed gold her once-alabaster skin. Wide, oblique eyes flash palest green from a classic, patrician face. Flame-coloured gossamer robes hang in shimmering tatters upon her slender, long-limbed frame, over black jade chain. One graceful hand holds her gossamer longsword: impossibly fine, ivory hilt carved with blossoms, it glows silver-grey, with an edge no Creation-forged blade could keep.
200-word description
(Brian Glass requested this for his artists' benefit.)
Shataina, Zenith Caste Solar
Hair falls in loose waves to her waist, the "rich dark red of antique burnished copper" (thanks for the turn of phrase, Tanith Lee); bronzy / scarlet highlights.
Wide, high cheekbones and forehead; straight nose; full dark lips. The obliquely slanted, yet wide, jade-green eyes meet the viewer's directly, fine chin lifted proudly. Extraordinarily pale skin, with a faint sheening golden glow from the Sun.
Black jade chain shirt. Over it: torn, tattered gossamer robes, shimmering the fiery red-orange of banked coals, edged with brighter stylized flames, belted at the waist. The robes become translucent towards their edges, for Creation's energies are slowly unmaking them.
Shataina travels, so she's probably wearing dusty leather trousers / a loose short skirt and boots; please dress her however you like so long as she keeps the chain and robes.
Morning Flower, gossamer longsword: 4 feet long, its name calligraphed in an ancient fae dialect upon the silvery blade, which is barely thicker than a breath and no wider than Shataina's arm. Long ivory cross-hilt carved with lilies, orchids, roses. Glows when undead are near or Shataina's emotional.
Across her back, what's colloquially known as the "fae-killing spear": slim, black, deadly; cruelly serrated iron diamond-shaped tip.
