BACKGROUND
The five of them were as brothers, drawn to one another by some inexplicable bound that defide explanation. The other four were Amilar Tis, Maheka Kon, Teresu Lo Yi, Yushoto Makul. In the interest of the experiment, each attended that same primary school. Their closeness was watched with great curiosity, though given the amount of distance the rest of the students gave them it was hardly suprising. They each exalted early, within a week of the others. The incidents went from a inspiration induced fury that brought Makul to the Dragon Blooded, to the following series of incidents that occured more frequently once their group was "vunerable".
Shin's came last, during a sparring accident. His guard dropped at a bad moment and a much large student decided to take him down a peg. Next thing he realizes is that the sticks are on fire, and the other students trying to desperately put himself out. He could feel the flame course through him and it felt natural. Other people said later that they could see draconic images in his anime, but that was just them being scare right?
Each of the five soon discovered the path that they would follow and the skills that they would master. Lo Yi and Kon would join the ranks of the officers, mastering the skills with sword and bow. Tis had decided to follow the ways of the Immaculate, his martial arts and spiritual knowledge growing ever sharper. Shin and Makul joined the Academy of Sorcery. Makul followed the path the sorceror-engineer, but they still managed to talk.
Unfortunately his youth as well as his unnatural appearance seemed to put others off slightly. He poured himself into his studies, spending his few spare hours training with Makul with swords. His swift progression earned him the ire of another student. Tsung Lio was among the eldest of the students seeking to become a sorceror. His family was primarily merchants so it had taken much for his parents to assure his entrance. He further disappointed by taking longer than he should to complete his studies. He was finishing his master on his final spell when Shin began his ascension. Within months, he had mastered all the spells needed to be granted technician rank (4 terresterial spells). He had during that time many completion.
Finally it became clear that this could go no further. The two agreed to meet in a field several miles outside of Looksky. Shin never new where he had found that demon nor the depth of the corruption that had taken place to make him that strong that fast, but once it was done he began to drag himself back to the city. It was almost a day before patrols found him. He would not speak of it, but the remains that they found along with the forbidden tomes that they found in Lio's room said all that was needed.
They couldn't allow Shin to stay, despite his skills the scandal would be too great. A cover story that Lio had died banishing a demon that was accidentally released with Shin's aid was created. A fiction to save face. But the truth would come out if he stayed. So another place was found for him. His mother fashioned the garb he now wears to cover his wounds and dull his pain.
With only a few books, a sword that his father had the smith make for him, and the heavy heart of missing friends and family he set off to the Heptagram on a chariot of light conjured of his own will. A small amount of payment for the trip tucked in his belt.
