Notes on Dark Riders

These are the definition and limits of the Dark Riders

The exact nature of the curse is not to be explained in too much detail. They are an enigma that should not be solved, only hinted at. They are the first but they DO NOT follow the rules of the standard abyssal. The technique in which they were created is completely different from the ones the Deathlords discovered only a few years back.

  • They are abyssal that served the creator of the book. The creator of the book is named Nos. As his and his servents punishment, they were bound to the book.
  • They can only be let out when the wielder of the pages wishes it. They must obey him completely or be forced back into the book as punishment.
  • Once the book is whole, each and every one of the Dark Riders powers increases tremendously.
  • If destroyed, they are returned to the book for a short time. But they are effectively immortal because of this.
  • To Summon a Dark Rider takes 30 commited Essence. The summoning spell is similar to Summon a Demon of the Second Cicle. They can only be summoned at night during a full moon. Most Engage in a willpower contest. Summoner must never force a Dark Rider to break the rules or the Dark Rider is free of Control and can only be forced back into the book as per Demon of the Second Circle.

The Following are the mystical rules by which the Dark Riders must obey or be racked with physical and mental pain.

  • Never fight on Holy Ground.
  • Never fight another Dark Rider
  • Never kill another possessor of the book
  • Never harm one who has summoned a Dark Rider
