Relm Civil War
The whole of creation knows it's coming. War in the Realm. With the Scarlet Empress gone, the houses scabble for power and the ambition of her children to take what she held slips further and further from any semblance of control.
The great houses have split the legions between themselves, each arming for their own attempt to make the Blessed Isle theirs and theirs alone - and Worse, the enemies of the realm whelm their own armies, slavering for a chance to strike back at the arrogance of the dragonlords, to conquer civilization, to put right what was wronged in the ursurpation so long ago, to slaughter the last bastion of the living - or just to win their own independance.
It's coming. Perhaps there are Diplomats who speak desperately of peace behind one hand - but they seize even more desperately at alliances behind the other.
And when it comes, there will be no escape, for all that the conflict is based out of the Blessed Isle. Every force in creation has an interest in this battle.
In the long, hot summer of Ry 769, creation is a tinderbox of armies whelmed. The only thing needed to engulf creation in the flames of war is a spark.
Desperate and ambitious, every great houses has sought inauspicious allies for the comming conflict - dismantling the wyld hunt to fight in their armies, presssing the monestaries of the Imaculate order into their ranks, promising freedom and power to satrapies in threshold in exchange for troops, Making dangerous treaties with barbarians, bringing a long last end to the feud between the Realm and Lookshy, treating with the Cult of the Illuminated or the strange, mechanical exalts scouting for the locust crusade in the south or worse - Recruiting Anathema. Bringing Deathknights and Solar demons directly under their banners.
The game will cover the War, both in threshold and the Realm and it will not be a short or easily ended conflict. Think Dynasty Warriors: this battle will last untill someone conqers the entire world, or decides to settle for half. In such a conflict, leaders will die, nations will change, and PC's have a very good chance of becoming the next rulers of the world.
