Houserules that I use.

Everyone

20 BP instead of 15 at chargen.
Backgrounds can be purchased with XP or gained in play. When purchased they cost 3x new dots.
At cult 4 you get a small power usable 1/month related to what people worship you for.
At cult 5 that power becomes either more powerful or moves to 1/week.
NO essence? NO essence ping!
While EclipseRathmun/Moonshadow caste exalts can learn as many alchemical charms as they have the experience for, other exalts can still learn a number of alchemical charms equal to their essence-x (x=0 for solars and lunars, -1 for sids, and -2 for DBs). (Autocthon is the living archetype of the engineer, as an engineer myself the thought of making things that aren't at least a little backwards compatible doesn't sit well with me.) However, when they activate those charms they gain temporary clarity equal to the installation cost of the charm.
AlternateMechanics/DSExpandedDifficulty I use these.
Join Battle
If you have allready pushed everyone else's actions back to tick 6, then for every 5 additional successes beyond that point you can push everyone else back another tick. (if you really want to spend the resources necessary to have a join battle roll high enough to take advantage of this, you can in fact go first... twice)
The reaction count for joining a battle in progress(everyone has had at least one action) is always 6.


Solars

HGD and SSE can't stop falling damage
Adamant Skin Technique can be used to crank up your effective strength for holding something up (but not for lifting it in the first place) if it is activated every tick you can do things like hold up a collapsing building, hold up a falling portcullis... etc... This can of course bankrupt your essence reserves very quickly.(4 motes/tick)
