More on Mazin and Crew

Mazin's pictures - Yay for slightly dated anime ^_^

Primary Days: Life as a Mortal - A character sheet for our little flashbacks.

The Character Sheet

Name: V’Neef Ferox Mazin

Player: Raccoon

Aspect: Earth

Concept: Leader of a fang without a true purpose

Nature: Survivor

Anima: Jagged diamonds appear to rise out of his skin then orbit around his body, catching any sources of light and glittering. This is a beautiful display if one forgets how dangerous it is. With 5 motes he can harden these diamonds into a glittering, orbital shield, and soak lethal damage with his stamina.

Equipment

Armor

Silken Armored Cloak (Artifact 3)
(Taken from Caste Book Eclipse, p80)

  • Black silk, lined in jade-green.
  • Clasps at the neck, with an optional clasp mid-chest.
  • Complete with hood, possibly to block an assassin’s arrow.
  • Soak 8L/6B. (+3 to each as per suggestion)
  • Stacks with other armor
  • 6 motes to attune

Shield Bracers (Artifact 2)
(CB: D, p78)

  • These leather bracers are covered in designs of elemental dragons, appearing somewhat ornamental. This fact may have been on purpose, as they are quite functional. In terms of armor, they are the equivalent of a tower shield. The bracers move, or attempt to move, the wearer’s arm in order to deflect incoming melee blows or missile attacks.
  • The bracers reduce the number of successes from all melee attacks on the wearer by -1 and all missile attack by -2.
  • The right bracer has a setting for a single hearthstone (Bloodstone).
  • Commit 3

Buff Jacket (Mundane)

  • Leather that is likewise black, with jade-green trim and buttons.
  • Soak 3L/4B, Mobility -1, Fatigue 2

Weapons

Jade Razor-Clawed Set (Artifact 1)
(Custom of Jade Razor Claws - CB: D, p78; Player’s Guide, p211)

  • A trio of hooked jade-alloy blades extends over the knuckles of black leather fingerless gloves, while jade-alloy blades line the shins and toes of the boots.
  • When the gloves are removed, the shin blades fold up and the toe blades retract into the sole. They won’t extend again without wearing the claws. This was probably to make social appearances without completely disarming.
  • +3 speed, +1 acc, +5L, +1 def, rate 6 (the stats in the player's guide + jade bonus, anyway)
  • Commit 4

Hearthstones

Jewel of Stability (Manse 3)
(Caste Book Dawn, p77)

  • Solid inky black and slightly rough.
  • This stone makes the user immune to knockdown and knockback while touching the ground, even with a single finger. In addition, he will never slip or fall even while running along an ice-covered mountain path or sprinting across a slick walkway of small, wet, moss-covered stones. It also makes it impossible to lift him from the ground, as if completely rooted in place.

The Bloodstone, Manse 2
(Caste Book Dawn, p77)

  • A deep sea-green stone liberally speckled with blood-red flecks.
  • While carried, the stone purifies and controls the person’s blood. The person is immune to all poisons and diseases, and also, never bleeds. Though he takes damage normally, the wounds he receives do not bleed.

The Jewel of Majesty (Manse 1)
(Custom)

  • A dark red, multi-faceted crystal with a black core.
  • When activated, the user of this hearthstone is surrounded by an invisible aura of majesty, increasing the charismatic qualities of his speeches, his seductions, and his rallies to battle.
  • +2 to Presence rolls.

Accessories

Jade Hearthstone Amulet (Mundane)
(Core, p337)

  • Carved into the form of the elemental dragon, Pasiap, it has a setting for a single hearthstone. (Jewel of Stability)
  • Commit 1 to activate Hearthstone.

Jade Hearthstone Belt (Mundane)
(Custom)

  • A simple leather belt with a jade buckle carved into the shape of a dragon’s head. Behind the dragon’s head is a setting for a single hearthstone. (Jewel of Majesty)
  • Commit 1 to activate Hearthstone.

Henchmen

Nicknamed ‘Dead Man’s Talon’, the majority of the group’s members have been left unfilled, after a major stream of bad luck resulting in the loss of most of the troops, and making an enemy out of superior officer. Only five remain, but despite everything that has happened to the former Talon (now reduced to a single Fang), they are very loyal to their leader. While talented, they are still only mortals.

Also… it should be noted that they’re very much… miscreants due to the relaxed manner of their leader, though they turn into battle-ready soldiers at a moment’s notice.

Mortals (As per Corebook, pg 103)

Family

As is alluded to in his history, his father was an officer in the Legions, but so was his mother. It is how they met after all. Their distinct services to the realm, and his father's heroism, bear weight in relations with some soldiers and bureaucrats. It is likely to have been a large factor in him not being immediately killed when angering Ragara Sousuke. His father is dead, but his heroic acts have left their mark; his mother on the other hand is still alive, remarried, and has turned her attentions to house politics. (+1 dice pool when dealing with soldiers, +2 when dealing with bureaucrats/officials -- when pertinent, as he isn't known for flaunting his lineage like some)
