New and Modified Wyld Mutations

This page lists my modifications to the existing Mutations available to Lunar Exalted for building their war-forms as well as a few new Mutations that I've come up with.

Revised Wyld Mutations

Poxes

Fangs (pg. 288, Exalted Core) - Bite Attacks have Speed 5, Accuracy +1, Damage +1L, no Defense and a Rate of 1. Instead of inflicting Crush Damage, a character with Fangs may elect to perform a Bite Attack instead. The traits for performing a Bite Attack in a Clinch are the same as for performing a normal Bite Attack.

Fur, Feathers and Scales (pg. 288, Exalted Core) - This mutation also adds +1 to all Resistance rolls for the purpose of withstanding Environmental Damage.

Serpentine Tongue (pg. 207, MoEP: Lunars) - This mutation reduces the penalty for fighting blind to a -2 External Penalty from a -4 External Penalty.

Afflictions

Impossible Joints, (pg. 146, CCoD Vol. 2: The Wyld) - In addition to the other listed effects the character's increased flexibility adds a +2 bonus to her Martial Arts rolls for the purpose of controlling clinches.

Thick Skin, (pg. 208, MoEP: Lunars and pg. 147 CCoD Vol. 2: The Wyld) - In addition to the other effects this Charm gives the character a +2 bonus to all Resistance rolls for the purpose of withstanding Environmental Damage.

Blights

Armored Hide, (pg. 289, Exalted Core) - In addition to the other listed effects this mutation also adds a +3 bonus to all Resistance rolls for the purpose of withstanding Environmental Damage.

Quills, (pg. 289, Exalted Core) - This mutation causes the Lunar's punches to inflict +1L damage and her kicks to inflict +3L damage. The quills also increase the Lunar’s unarmed Parry Defense Value by +1 and cause anyone grappling with the character to suffer 3L damage per action. Anyone who strikes the Lunar barehanded must also soak 3 dice of raw lethal damage. Lunars with this mutation also gain the ability to launch the quills like dart attacks. When used in this manner the quills inflict +1L piercing damage, have +1 Accuracy, a Rate of 3 and a Range of 15 yards. This Blight is also equivalent to taking the Razor Skin Affliction (see below) twice.

Abominations

Hive, (pg. 290, Exalted Core) - The Lunar’s war-form is a living host to numerous vermin that she can control and use them as living weapons and spies. This has a number of different effects. First the Lunar can direct the vermin to attack up to her Essence in separate targets. Each opponent attacked in this way treats the vermin as environmental damage that inflicts 1L/action and has a Trauma of 3. Anyone currently being attacked by a swarm of vermin also suffers a -2 Internal penalty to all actions. The Lunar can redirect the targets of the vermin in the swarm as a miscellaneous action. Swarms of vermin cannot be destroyed except with area attacks, in which case the swarm is considered to have a number of Health Levels equal to the Lunar’s Essence. Once killed it takes 24 hours for the Lunar to regenerate new vermin.

To have venomous vermin the Lunar must take the Toxin Affliction in combination with this Abomination. The Lunar can also use the vermin as spies. Used in this way the Lunar can experience whatever one of her vermin experiences as if she were using the Charm Sense-Borrowing Method.

Dragon's Breath, (pg. 148, CoCD Vol. 2: The Wyld) - This is a Speed 5 Action, but it can only be used once every (12 minus the Character's Stamina) ticks, due to the need to recharge.

Multiple Limbs and Heads, (pg. 290, Exalted Core) - The Lunar gains her choice of one extra set of arms, a set of extra legs or an extra head for every two dots of permanent Essence she has, round up. Each new set of legs up to six additional legs increases the Lunar’s movement by +3 per action, adds +2 to Strength for the purpose of determining Jumping ability and adds +1 to all of her rolls to resist knockdown and knockback. Each additional set of arms reduces the Lunar’s Flurry penalties by 1 to a minimum of 1 and adds a +1 Bonus to all grapplng rolls. Each extra head reduces the Lunar’s flurry penalties by 1 to a minimum of 1 and adds +2 to all Perception rolls. Each Head also increases the Rate of the Lunar’s bite attacks by 1.

Stone Body, (pg. 148, CoCD Vol. 2: The Wyld) - This mutation also grants a +4 dice bonus to Resistance rolls for the purpose of withstanding environmental damage.

Tentacles, (pg. 289, Exalted Core) - This is now an Abomination rather then a Blight. The Lunar gains a number of tentacles equal to twice her Essence. The tentacles can grapple any target in range and increase the Lunar’s clinch damage by +3B. Each tentacle can grapple a separate opponent, but when used to clinch with the same opponent each tentacle the Lunar uses increases her effective Strength by +1 for the purposes of clinching.

Wings, (pg. 290, Exalted Core) - This mutation also allows the Lunar to perform a Dive Attack which has a Speed of 6, Accuracy -1, Rate of 1 and adds +4 to the normal damage of any Melee or Martial Arts attack the Lunar can normally use.

New Mutations

Poxes

Climber's Grip - The Lunar manifests hooked claws, sticky pads, extra thumbs, prehensile toes or some other adaptation that allows her to climb better. The Lunar may automatically scale any vertical surface at a speed equal to her normal movement and reduces the difficulty of all climbing rolls by 2 to a minimum of 1.

Fins - The Lunar may ignore all movement based penalties imposed for being fully immersed in water as well as penalties to her Dodge Defense Value. She may also ignore water based penalties for making bite and clinch attacks. At the storyteller’s discretion Fins may also exempt other natural weaponry based attacks from being penalized if they would benefit from increased movement speed underwater such as fin blades and a lashing tail.

Afflictions

Acid Slime – The Lunar’s war-form body is covered by a toxic coating. Anyone who strikes the Lunar with a barehanded attack or grapples with her is automatically exposed to this toxin. The poison has a Damage of 5L/action, Toxicity of 2, no Tolerance and inflicts a -2 Penalty. This Affliction can be taken more then once, each additional purchase increases the Toxicity and Penalty by 1 each. Anyone struck by one of the Lunar’s barehanded attacks can also be inflicted with the toxin, though the least amount of armor will protect against poisoning unless a stunt is involved.

Aquatic Form – The Lunar gains all the benefits of the Fins Pox, but also increases her Dexterity by +2 for the purpose of determining movement and her Dodge Defense Value underwater. This Affliction can be taken multiple times and its effects stack.

Razor Skin – The Lunar’s skin in her war-form is exceptionally abrasive. All of her unarmed attacks automatically inflict lethal rather then bashing damage, including her clinches. In addition anytime the Lunar is subject to a barehanded attack her attacker suffers as much raw lethal damage as the raw damage inflicted by his attack.

Mole Claws - This mutation is equivalent to taking the Claws Mutation twice, but instead of adding extra damage to the Lunar's unarmed attacks like the Talons mutation the Lunar gains the ability to dig through the earth with incredible speed. As a dramatic action that takes 5 long ticks, the Lunar may burrow a distance equal to (the character's Strength + Athletics) yards. If the Lunar wishes to create a tunnel that others can follow her through then she may only move half that distance, rounded up. An Intelligence + Crafts(Earth) roll may be required to create truly stable tunnels or an extensive system of burrows. If this mutation is taken twice the Lunar may burrow a distance equal to (the character's Strength + Athletics) yards as Speed 5, DV -2, Miscellaneous Action. If this mutation is taken a third time, the Lunar may burrow through solid stone as easily as she moves through the earth.

Blights

Armadillo Plates - As a diceless miscellaneous action the Lunar is able to curl his body into a tight ball, leaving no part of his body exposed. While in this form, the Lunar doubles the soak bonuses gained from the Thick Skin and Armored Hide mutations. He also gains a Hardness equal to his natural soak and can propel himself only by rolling, which is equivalent to taking a Dash Action. In addition, by flurrying he may make Body Slam attacks against opponents as he Dashes into them, which is the only attack available to the character while he is curled into a ball. Body Slams have Speed 5, Accuracy -2, Damage +4B, Defense +2 and a Rate of 3. If the Lunar has the Razor Skin ability his Body Slams inflict Lethal Damage. The Quills mutation increases his Body Slam damage to +6L. Uncurling is also a diceless miscellaneous action.
