DESCRIPTION
Y'know. That guy. A Lunar, probally, given the silvery bits and giant frigging claws.
Tactics
Adamant Kraken is my take on the Lunar Soak Beast of Hell. No, he's not as optimized as he could be- at first glance.
Except for one important note. The Water Dragon Form lets you spend 1 mote to pump your Soak by 2, to an unlimited degree, and this doesn't count as using a Charm. But no effect can increase a Lunar's natural (non-armor) Soak above 12- it goes into Hardness instead. The use is self-evident.
The less evident part is my exploitation of the Power Seeking rules. Since technically the Kombat is taking place in the Deep Wyld, Lunars can go on one turn Power Quests. You roll your two lowest Virtues, can spend a Willpower for an additional success, etcetc. This gives an average of 6 successes for Kraken- the number that lets me select a Blight, Affliction or Pox (toned down a little from the Lunars book).
Foe-Driving Attack was mostly taken cause it felt wrong to have a Lunar who doesn't have it. Especially with a 23 base attack pool. Bsaically I can casually toss of 3 attacks at full pool, or burn some Willpower and Essence to get 7. Good deal, eh? :) And initative is a non-issue; what will they do, hit me?
Now, there are some concerns; any attack that relies on touching, rather than dealing damage. Luckily, very, VERY few such attacks exist- and they seem pretty unpopular. Also, Agg. Even though I'm pretty sure it would have to be an agg attack of at least 35 dice pre-soak; a terrifyingly impressive number, that you'd really need a Perfect Soaker to deal with.
Of course, his attack pool is only 23; actually hitting people may prove problematic, with the frequency of stacked persistants. But I'm banking on his invulnerability being better than anyone else's.
