Meru Song was the product of a long legacy of the Cathak Cacek household's military strategists and avid Gateway players. Meru Song showed a definate knack for both traits from as early as primary school, never quite matching the abilities of similar prodigies with the Scarlet Dynasty, but nonetheless establishing a fine name for himself. He continued in much the same fashion, gliding beneath the noses of his Dragon-Blooded kin, until following one of his entries in a Realm-wide Gateway tournament, the seeming fates and destinies of his opponents' moves revealed themselves to Meru Song.

He used this seeming divine guidence to make his way to the finals of the tourney, facing off against an advisor of the Ledaal who had similar interests. A battle of destiny took place over that board, and yet for all of his newly-found wisdom in fate, Cathak was soundly defeated by the countered fate-weavings of the Ledaal advisor. After Cathak stormed out of the great hall, he was confronted by the advisor, a Sidereal elder who had forced the Exaltation of young Cathak.

Meru Song was brought to Yu-Shan, and given a crash-course in what it was to be Sidereal in the Realm, an education made easier by the inate understanding the Realm had already instilled in Cathak of his destined Exaltation. Yet as Meru Song looked around, he saw the obvious distaste so many Sidereal felt for their "lessers". He watched gods abandon their posts, unafraid and even blatantly disrespectful of the will of the Dragons. Though not a highly religious man, Cathak knew and felt to his bones the sacrilege against the Immaculate Philosophy Yu-Shan embodied.

He dedicated himself to 'fixing' the problems of Yu-Shan and Creation through the only means he knew, the power of the Realm. Yet he knew that so long as the Dynasty fought each other, they could not hope to stamp out the depredations of latchkey gods, cut out the festering cancers of Anathema and the Gold faction, and bring the enlightened rule of the Blessed Isle to Creation. So he arranged a Resplendent Destiny within the House of Bells, so that he may train the next generation of Dragon-Blooded generals, and the generation after that, and the generation after that. After all, with a large enough army, even the walls of Heaven can fall to its power, and the gods will be made aware that their slacking will no longer be accepted under the new rule of the Realm. One just needs to fix the army first.

Meru Song doesn't have a definate job within Heaven, aside from basic Sidereal tasks, but his dedication to his task fulfills him enough. He has convinced a few Realm-loyal gods within the Bureau of Heaven to send any missives they can afford about the corruption of other gods. Considering that associating with the Gold faction or Anathema is to Cathak's mind, corruption, the missives have become quite large lately. His acquaintences are both educators within the House of Bells who, though unaware of Cathak's larger scheme, are well behind his goal of fixing the Realm.

Acquaintances : A few members of the teaching staff at the House of Bells.
Allies : Gri-Fel, God of the Imperial City. The source of Meru Song's list of names, with Jagalza's name inevitably at the top of it.
Celestial Manse : A comfy townhouse, a small gift from Hu Dai Liang, Shogun of the Crimson Banner.
Familiar : Baron Liu, Meru Song's pet hawk. It's just a hawk, that's all.
