Ascending Earth, 768

• 13th :
  • Game Begins...
  • Mettan'Aku meets Prince Till of Stromberg and his 100 Cavalry (and his second-in-command, Kalara).
  • Mettan'Aku recognises something familiar about Till and joins up as a scout.
  • Shortly thereafter they meet Scar, currently following a Nemissary.
  • The Circle meet Soulban out on the plains, he was tracking the Nemessary that Scar had already taken care of. [Leath]
• 14th - 26th :
  • At some point the Circle meet with the rag-tag refugees from a village that was (or had been) under Fae attack, back towards Sijan on the edge of the Hundred Kingdoms. The Circle bravely chooses to help by journeying to Nexus to get reinforcements.
• 27th :
  • The Circle arrive at the ferrying station to cross the river to Nexus.
  • Prince Till has come looking for allies to regain his Kingdom.
  • The Circle meets a number of Abyssals, but refuses their initial offer aid.
    • The Abyssals met were "Peace of Still Embrace" and "Sounds of Anguish and Victory". There was also a Day caste, but none of you ever saw him. [Leath]
  • To avoid the scary Abyssals, Mettan'Aku attempts to swim across [that bloody big river by Nexus] and nearly drowns; he is rescued by the River God who demands that in return for his life, Mettan'Aku must sacrifice a man on the riverbank by dusk the next day.
    • River god's name was Blbdblb (of course!) [Leath]
  • Mettan'Aku is devastated by this, and journeys into Nexus looking for people who do not deserve to live.
  • At some point here, the Circle meet Soulban. Soulban, Till and Scar (I'm pretty sure Kiss of Winter hadn't come on the scene just yet?) have several drinks in a Tavern, Soulban gets smashed, and starts showing his caste-mark.
  • Soulban is hurried out of Nexus to Till's camp, but not before being spotted by Immaculates, although they are given the slip.
• 28th :
  • [before dawn] Mettan'Aku has decided on a low-life slaver whom he captures with a fowling arrow to the head.
  • As he attempts to sneak out of the city with the man over his shoulders, he is stopped by Sesus Lor, an Immaculate of Dana'ad, who pummels him with water [freaking aggravated damage!] which he manages to survive, but the poor unconscious mook gets obliterated.
  • Mettan'Aku evades the Monk(s?) and flees the city, to Till's camp where he remains upset and hurt, coughing up blood and water.
  • Soulban takes Mettan'Aku into the city for the afternoon and helps find a slaver who had been drugged, or drunk or beaten unconscious, Mettan'Aku sorrowfully takes the unconscious mook to the riverbank.
  • [at dusk] Mettan'Aku tries to awaken the unconscious man to explain why he is to be sacrificed, and to give him an honorable death, but cannot, so he garrotes the man in cold blood and is even more devastated than before as it's the first time he has ever killed a man. He kneels in a vigil through the night in honor of the slaver and penance and is somewhat comforted by the presence of Strikes-In-Darkness.
