Background

Lilang was born to the Scavenger Lands, unceremoniously dumped on the doorstop of a monastery tending to the sick and wounded. Taken in by a priestess, she was raised in the priesthood despite her 'mutant' appearance. She started to pick up a reputation as an ill omen, as she would keep people company in their last days; those who would recover rarely had her company. Unfortunately, soon her presence ended; the priestess who raised her grew ill and died, and without her guardianship, the girl was banished, to 'prevent the deaths she caused'. While following the road and hoping to find a city, she fell asleep from exhaustion and hunger.
She awoke in a bed being tended by some minor gods; her savior revealed himself within the day, and over the next few days, explained to her why she was saved and what she was. Becoming immersed in her training for the next few years, her Exaltation came peacefully in her sleep, as she let go of her old life in the hospice completely.
Lilang served faithfully and capably in her new life as one of Saturn's Chosen, helping those who needed to pass on to go, as well as those who refused, clung to their old lives, and such. She received two gifts from her sifu, who'd recovered them in one of his missions; her bracers and the satchel, which he decided she'd like to help postpone deaths that didn't need to happen.
