This simple charm allows the Exalt to read a letter without leaving any traces of his or her indiscretion. No seals are brocken, no finger prints are left, no hairs are left etc. The Exalt must merely pass his or her hand over the letter in question to instantly read the contents of the letter.

Use of this charm, nor the use of any of the charms in this cascade, cannot instil knoweledge of the meaning of a letter if the reader does not understand the language or the code used to compose it.

The pathways used to convey information resonate out from their recorded form. With concentration, the Exalt can open his senses to the quiet whispers spoken by all written words. By using this charm and meditating in a room full of books or other written instruments, the Solar can gain the knowledge contained in all such texts. However, the sudden influx of knowledge is difficult to sort, and some parts seem to blur together. Recalling specific passages requires a Intelligence + Linguistics roll, with difficulty depending on the complexity of the passage. Flawlessly reciting a section of poetry would be difficulty 1, recalling the date and time on which the third son of Hierarch Gin passed by the county of Arjuf would be difficulty 3, whilst recalling the chemical composition used in the formation of first age impervious materials would be difficulty 5.

Using the charm, the Exalt can read the contents, without leaving a trace, of the current contents of a region's mailing system. To do so the Exalt must meditate in relative silence for a period of 10 minutes.

This charm must be used in the mail centre of the region in question.

This charm allows the Exalt to scan over the contents of the letters in question, search for key words and phrases, internally catagorise the letters into groups etc.

Notes:

• Current contents is defined to include any mail that has been in the system in the last 24 hours.
• Region is defined as the mailing system of a small town, a city (ncluding the immediate country-side) or a small city-state in the hundred kingdoms. The internal mailing system of a Yu-Shan bureau or a Great House would count as a region, whereas the Realm or the Scavenger Lands would not.
• In the mail centre is defined as either in the mail distribution centre or in an area of upper level management.

Masterful Heavenly Spider Emulation

Master Heavenly Spider Emultion works exactly the same as Regional Eye Focus, above, except for the following differences:

• The charm reads the letters of an entire mail network.
• The meditation period lasts for 100 - (Permanent Essence * 10) minutes, and may be decreased by 10 minutes by spending a willpower, down to a minimum of instant.
• The meditation period must be done in some form of mail center that is connected to the network.
• The Exalt must either be an either be, or have connections to, one of the owners of the mail network. Introducing yourself at a party to a manager is not enough to count as a connection, however setting up regular meetings, holding several dinners together etc. over a period of a week should be enough.
