The caster's tongue flicks out, measuring the auras of power that waft on the wind. He discerns the permanent Essence of all beings within (Martial Arts x 5) yards.

When your prey is fast, you've got to be faster. Cunning never hurts either. Like the lizard, the martial artist hides their intent behind reptilian eyes. This Charm decreases the Speed of an attack by 1, to a minimum of 3. Alternately, it adds (Martial Arts) dice to a Join Battle roll.
Tail-Severing Flight Cost: 1m Type: Reflexive Keywords: Combo-OK, Crippling Duration: Instant Minimums: MA 3, Essence 2 Prerequisites: None
A trapped lizard may flee, leaving their tail in the mouth of their pursuer. In the same way, a Lizard Style martial artist is prepared to suffer a lesser harm to escape a hold. This Charm may be activated in response to a clinch-control roll. The clinch is automatically broken, but the martial artist takes a -2 penalty to all actions with one limb until all other injuries have been healed.

Some lizards can regenerate severed tails and even limbs. Through a deep mastery of her own internal Essence flows, the character may emulate their regenerative abilities. The character may reflexively heal non-amputation Crippling effects for (Essence of the effect's source)m, or 1m if the effect is a result of Tail-Severing Flight. This effect does not count as the character's Charm use for the action.

Like the frilled dragon, the Lizard-stylist displays their aggression to shock the foe in the form of a blazing frill of vibrant red-and-yellow Essence. This Charm supplements a Join Battle action. Roll (Charisma+Martial Arts+Essence), and apply the result to the Valor ratings of all opponents present. If the number of successes is greater than a given opponent's Valor rating, they subtract a number of successes from their Join Battle roll equal to the number of extra successes.

With the advanced understandings of holds and escaping from them that a Lizard-stylist gains, their clinches become quite punishing. This Charm supplements a clinch. The martial artist may cripple one of the target's limbs, rendering it useless until all other damage heals, if the clinch inflicts even one level of damage.
False Head Lure Cost: 3m Type: Reflexive (Step 5) Keywords: Combo-OK Duration: Instant Minimums: MA 4, Essence 3 Prerequisites: Lizard Form
The gila monster's tail is so similar to its head that sometimes predators mistake one for the other. In the same way, the martial artist presents the illusion of a fatal hole in their guard, when in reality their opponent's strike will not harm anything they can't afford to lose. The opponent compares their successes on a (Wits+Awareness) roll to the martial artist's on a (Dexterity+Martial Arts) roll. If the martial artist wins the contested roll, the opponent's raw damage is reduced to 0 before the application of Charms. This Charm is activated in Step 5 of attack resolution, but its effects take place in Step 7.
Tail-Regenerating Meditation Cost: 5m, 1wp Type: Simple Keywords: Obvious Duration: Instant Minimums: MA 5, Essence 3 Prerequisites: False Head Lure
With supreme mastery of their internal Essence flows, students of Lizard Style can attain mastery of this Charm. The martial artist may reatttach a severed limb or regrow lost extremities such as ears, noses, fingers or suchlike in combat, healing one amputation Crippling effect, or one that reduces Appearance. Full regeneration from scratch of a limb or complex structure such as an eye or internal organ takes (appropriate Attribute x 2) hours (Strength for limbs, Stamina for organs, Perception for sense organs). Mechanically, this Charm can heal any physical Crippling effect, even those that completely destroy a limb or organ. Alchemical Charms cannot be regrown with this Charm, and reattaching them properly in combat is often difficult, especially if they bear the Internal keyword or are non-localized.
