Mastihos, Indulgent, The Unrelenting Crimson Mask

The source of his joy lies in adversity, and as fire tests gold, so does misery test strong men. The Crimson Mask manifests as a reflection of the summoner, but injured, chained, tortured or suffering any given ordeal. If chains rip into his/her flesh, the flesh heals in a number of turns equal to (6 - their conviction). If chains bind his potential, but the demon's massive strength stretch the links, which eventually bend back into their proper shape.

It is in his nature to test, and if a sorcerer commands him to conceal such horrors, he is banished altogether; only brave sorcerers enjoy his service, and can thereafter command him to test another (whose form & fears he takes the shape of instead). He both hates & adores the undead, as unrelenting failures, and even as his dripping blood invites them to drink, it is poison, sending ghosts flaming to Lethe & zombies to crumble, to seek out their own rebirths & potentials again. To sorcerers, he/she depicts their potential if their wills refuse to be bound.

Although intimidating, his greatest talents are as a shaper, torturer and guardian. To martial artists, he knows a handful styles, all of which empower the practitioner through pain. He is skilled in branding, scarification, tattooing and stranger arts and can reshape flesh to a sorcerer's designs. As a lover, he desires cruelty, and will be harsh on those who fail to be harsh to him.

Ages ago, a Twilight sent the Unrelenting Crimson against his Lunar mate, in the Twilight's own visage. Although Mastihos could not defeat the Lunar, neither could the Lunar kill whom she thought was her own mate. Cocky and self-sure, Mastihos pressed close and forced a kissed on the Lunar, attempting to taint her; in return, the Lunar bit Mastihos' lower lip, pulling the lower jaw off & thereafter ravaging the corpse. Mastihos can thus be tempted by knowledge of where this Lunar's exaltation is (he desires her above all else) and can be summoned into creation when a warrior kills his or her own lover, despite their wishes. To a Lunar sorcerer, Mastihos can share secrets underlying the art of tattooing their kin, and seeks the chance to tattoo the Lunar who shares the shard of his fixation - what such blessings might do, are yet known.
