- The Bull of the North, also Yurgen Kaneko, an Icewalker chieftan and warlord. He has unified the disparate Icewalker tribes and is leading them to conquest after conquest in the North. He is closely attended by his six Exalted generals, the Snow Lords.
- Frika Einzangu, a beautiful and mysterious Night caste from the North. An adept of the Dreaming Pearl Courtesan Style. Her last name means, "Firstborn of Zangu," a sacred mountain in the North that is the home of the Court of Masques.
- Samea of the Blackwater Mammoth Tribe, the Zenith of Yurgen Kaneko's Circle and first among the Snow Lords, the Bull's generals.
