Second Edition Sidereals Now - Battles

Archery

Any Direction Arrow is replaced by Archery I.

Every Direction Arrows follows the 2e Extra Action charm convention, 2m per each of up to Essence +1 attacks.

Opportune Shot allows the Sidereal to instantly ready his weapon as a reflexive action, and adds his Essence in automatic successes to his Join Battle roll.

Five Seasons Approach is replaced by Archery IV.

Many Missiles Bow Technique gains the keywords Shaping and Astrological. A new variant of this charm is the Fate variant, which allows this charm to be used in Astrological Combat to make Astrological attacks at range. Provided an arcane link to the target, this charm could theoretically be used at any distance, though range penalties would apply.

Melee

Harmony of Blows follows the standard Extra Action conventions, 2m for each of up to Essence +1 attacks.

Meditation on War is a Permanent charm that expands the Sidereal dice-adder cap as it relates to Melee, adding the character's current wound penalty (so, if the character were Essence 3 and at -2, her dice cap would be 5).

Orchestration of Conflict is replaced by Melee IV.

Impeding the Flow parries any parryable attack automatically, without the need for a roll.

Serenity in Blood - Unnecessary? Just a more expensive ItF that parries unparryables... merge with ItF?

Smiling at the Damned halves raw damage, but that damage becomes aggravated. Against Creatures of Darkness, damage is not halved.

Perfection of the Visionary Warrior eliminates Onslaught Penalties, and grants a single, unflurriable reflexive attack per action, which does not count towards DV penalties. The character may sacrifice this attack to subtract her Essence from any Coordinated Attack penalties she may suffer for that action.

Presence

Presence in Absence Technique allows the Sidereal to make a single social attack through an intermediary. By spending a willpower point with this charm, the attack gains the Compulsion keyword and is unnatural.

Impose Nature gains the Illusion keyword, and provides the target with a second Motivation equal to her primary one.

Force Decision gains the Compulsion keyword. Manipulation + Presence vs target's MDV. If the desired decision opposes the target's motivation, he may resist with willpower, 1 for every success in excess of his MDV. Its prerequisite is Impose Nature.

New Charm: Behind the Curtain of Fate

Prerequisites: Presence in Absence Technique, Force Decision

The Sidereal inscribes a prayer strip with the scripture of the Maiden in Charge, which he inserts into the brainpan of the target (as it dematerializes, this does not cause grievous injury). With a successful Manipulation + Presence roll vs the target's MDV, the target is now the Sidereal's proxy. With concentration, the Sidereal can control him utterly. When the Sidereal's concentration lapses, the target regains control, but does not recall the events that occurred while he was controlled- if he makes a successful Wits + Awareness roll, he will experience it as a blackout, aware that something very wrong has happened but unsure what. If this roll fails, the target remains blissfully unaware. The Sidereal may use his charms through the proxy; peripheral essence use causes him to develop an anima banner, though at only half the rate of the Sidereal (i.e., for every 2 motes peripheral, the target displays the effects of 1, and maxes out at 8+ instead of 16+).


Resistance

Red Haze adds a -1 DV penalty to all Creatures of Darkness, and grants a +1 DV bonus vs Creatures of Darkness.

Someone Else's Destiny - Shaping, Astrological. Used in Astrological Combat, this allows the Sidereal to reflexively retarget any astrological attack against him, though he cannot target the original attacker with it.

Water and Fire Legion - Shaping, Servitude. Cha + Resistance vs Spirit's MDV.

Shield of Mars - Shaping.

Storm's Eye Stance - Shaping.

Unwavering Well-Being Meditation - CHa + Resistance vs MDV, Compulsion.

War

New Charm: Auspicious Orders Practice
Cost: 5m; Mins: War 3, Ess 2; Type: Simple.
Keywords: Combo-OK, War.
Duration: One Scene
Prerequisites: None

The Sidereal warps Fate to aid his Unit. Relays arrive at the perfect moment, rallying cries come at the exact moment the troops' morale begins to waver, etc. For the duration, subtract (the Sidereal's Essence /2, rounded up) from the Magnitude of his Unit for any roll where Magnitude is detrimental. This charm does not function if the Sidereal leads the Unit, unless he either commands the Unit as part of a larger army under the orders of another, or if the unit commander falls in battle and the Sidereal must assume command.


Predestined Triumph Practice gains the War keyword, and the roll is Charisma + War. Enemy units subtract one from their DV vs blessed units, and suffer a -1 internal penalty for all attacks against them. It has Auspicious Orders Practice as a prerequisite.

Essence-Draining Battle Pattern gains the War keyword, and the roll is Intelligence + War.

Demon-Blocking Battle Pattern gains the War keyword, and the roll is Intelligence + War.

Spirit-Binding Battle Pattern gains the War and Compulsion keywords; the Intelligence + War roll is made against a difficulty of the target spirit's MDV.
