Warrior of the Ashen Spires

Background

Deneor Eagra is from the Glitter-Flame Desert, born into the slavery of a nomadic tribe that splintered off the larger body of the Delzahn Horde several hundred years ago. His parents toil there still, somewhere in the Glitter-Flame desert, but they no longer speak. Their child was able to talk himself out of slavery, but not them. Flattering the ears of certain of his masters with a gods-gifted silver tongue, he managed through persistence and fate to boost himself into the lowest caste in the tribe.

As a new member of the tribe, Deneor was obligated to undergo a vision-quest into the desert to find himself and return with an artifact of his journey. So Deneor Eagra left his embittered family behind, and left his newfound tribal brothers, and left the small community that was everything he'd ever known, and journeyed out into the wastelands.

He traveled for years, subsisting on the sparse plant and animal life, leaving behind him a trail of footprints rapidly blown away by the desert wind. His tribe continued on without him, traveling as they always had to parts in the desert unknown, heading East. After many months of subsistence, he arrived at the Lapis Court, and continued on, unmolested but followed by an intrigued Fair Folk noble.

Deneor continued to journey South, not knowing of his new shadow nor of its growing strength as he approached the Wyld. The travel came to a head at the Standing Stones of Cinnabar, and Deneor Eagra's heart knew joy for the first time in years, as he knew this was the place he had been seeking for so long. The Fey, unable to resist the temptation, attempted to ravage the young man, and he defeated it in a contest of blows, taking his Second Breath as he tore out the monsters heart triumphantly atop the tallest of the Stones. Deneor Eagra was dead, and the Warrior of the Ashen Spires was born.

The Warrior carries the crystallized heart of that noble still, sealed securely in a pouch about his waist. It is his most treasured possession.

He traveled far from the Stones, and North, having found his power but lost his way, and arrived at Mount Eldath. In a cave on the side of the mount, he rested for the night, and found the dried bones of a long dead reptile, covered in jet black armour and ringed with runes of gold that resonated with his very soul. Shaken and fearful of a curse, he left the cave and never looked back. The Warrior continued his travels, by this point having concluded that he would not find his tribe without powerful magic, and wound up in Lookshy.

The Warrior was befuddled. He had never been in a city of this size, having spent most of his life by now alone in the desert, wandering and searching. He worked briefly in menial labour, before learning of the great libraries of the city. Teaching himself to read and write the languages he had gathered in his travels, he devoured the written words, and learned of two traditions that might help him, both supernatural and alien.

And so the Warrior of the Ashen Spires took to the study of sorcery and completed his five trials. He discovered that he had already made the sacrifice ? his name. And shortly, he grew bored of the dusty books and stuffy teachers, and set out to wander once more.

A year ago the Warrior arrived in Chiaroscuro, and was rapidly taken under the wing of a Dragon-Blooded mentor. What the goal of this being is is unknown to the Warrior. Perhaps he genuinely wishes to help the Solar, or perhaps he is manipulating him to gain a new weapon. Either way, his new sifu has taught him much of the style of the Fire Dragon, and the Warrior has become more powerful than ever before. He recently acquired the legendary artifact Whimsical Creation from his sifu, as a gift for one year well spent.

His anima is a swirling course gold mist, with bits spontaneously bursting into flame, twisting in unnatural ways and vanishing.

Motivation: Create a new style of Solar-only Sidereal Martial Arts by integrating first-age martial arts.

Appearance

A bulky man at least 6 feet tall, the Warrior stands out in a crowd. He's of average appearance, with dark skin and a shaved head, and looks like he's smuggling watermelons in his upper arms. Most of his body is covered in plates of obsidian with glowing gold runes that fits him like a second skin.
