Hierophant2

The great chamber of the Deliberative was in session, a debate going on between factions about a campaign against the Wyld to expand the borders of Creation. The Hierophant sat in his central throne helping to keep order and civility amongst them. Zeniths have a tendancy to get rather passionate about what they think is right.

The great chamber stilled and went silent as the golden doors to the chamber swung open and Nikko strode straight to the center of the room, looking around at his solar brothers and sisters before fixing his gaze upon the Hierophants. This voice was steel.

"Lord Hierophant...I demand she be given her back."

The Hierophant stood and raised one brow to him. "That is not a tone I like Nikko. You forget yourself, it is not your place to dictate to this august chamber."

Nikko seethed but did not let his emotions rule him. Lashing out would be sure to make things even more difficult and his love came first before his pride.

"Lord Hierophant, I ask of you to help return my love."

"No."

"WHAT?!"

"Control yourself Nikko. Such displays over a mortal do not befit a solar. I will do nothing return her to you and let you continue this offence to our father the Unconquered Sun and to Luna. Each step you take in pursuit of this unnatural love offends Heaven itself and we as faithful children of the Sun will not let this happen."

Around the chamber the others nodded in their agreement with the Hierophant, some even had their lunar spouses with them who also seemed to agree with the Hierophant. Nikko looked around for support for himself and saw none, just the looks of people dealing with a child who needs things explained.

"My Lord," Nikko said, forcing the respectful words from his mouth. "I do love her and the Unconquered Sun has shown me nothing of his displeasure at my transgression. There is nothing in the teaching he has given us to lend your words weight. He even gifted her with the vitality that she might stand by my side until the millenia caught up wit me. Would you see an innocent have its life taken from them all for the sake of your bigoted pride! I ask you again, please return my love to me."

The Hierophant stood and glowered at the unyielding Zenith before him. "I thought you would be like this. She is gone to you Nikko. If you so much as raise a finger against one of your brothers, no matter what they have done to some mortal wench I will see you own rights and powers stripped from you! Creation is given unto we the Exalted to rule. We have look down on this marriage. Your lies about the Unconquered Sun do little to help your case. Now stop with this stupid prattle about her and move on and find yourself a proper wife befitting a Solar!"

Nikko stood still for a moment in shock...then in his anger stepped towards the Hierophant. His rage clenched fist reaching for the massive sword strapped across his back. "You!!! If any harm befalls her I would strip you of more than your rights and power!!" He stopped then as two of the night caste appeared beside the Hierophant to guard him, the other solars all now also on their feet.

"Nikko...you would dare reach for your blade in the presence of your fellows?" His face showed both anger and amusement. "You think you could hope to best me? Truely the Sun's light wanes upon you. I shall only say what I have already. Raise as much as a finger against anyone of your station and there shall be not once ounce of mercy for you."

"Then I too shall repeat what I have said. Should any harm befall her I shall see to it the Sun’s judgement falls upon you. Whether it be divine or the cold steel of my blade rammed through your still beating heart! Should you think I would drop this then you would be far more than gravely mistaken! As far as I’m concerned you may as well strike me from heart and mind as of now. Are you so blind to see that even now the Sun’s grace wavers in the face of every last one of you! Justice will be dealt!! By my hand or another!” His voice calmed, speaking with undying and level headed spite, “know now you have made another enemy. Today a Darksolar is born.”

With that he muttered an oath loud enough that even those at the back of the halls could here is words. Spitting on the golden floor before the feet of the man who had earned his eternal contempt, he stormed out of the hall. Pushing those who would bar his way aside as if they were nothing, the great doors slamming behind with such as forces, that even the mighty walls of the chamber shook as if they might cave under the power. He left, never to walk the halls bearing that face again.

The Hierophant shook his head as he stode out. "Heaven shall long remember the day that a traitor declared himself amongst us. Dark solar indeed. I only hope some day you learn the wisdom to see the error of your ways." The final words mocking in tone.
