This is the Age of Strife... one where roaming bands of Exalted and not so exalted warlords are the law, where only cities with mighty Gods or Exalted are safe from these bands of maurders...
It is now 800 years since the the fall of the Old Realm, and nothing has risen in that time to give order to Creation. No Realm under the control of the Scarlet Empress... No resurrected Solar Deliberate.... The Silver pack as it is, no longer exists... too many of the elder Lunars fell in the contagion and in the war against the Fey to keep the Pack intact.
On the Blessed Isle, in a village near a eastern manse that lies shut to Creation, there is a legend.
In that legend, it is said... that there was once a cowardly Dragonblooded Officer of the Shogunate who deserted her post, and fled the hopeless war against the Fey. Travelling under the cover of darkness, this deserter made her way to an ancient Anathema manse with her companions.
Seeking a measure of safety, this officer and her companions, broke into the ancient manse and was never heard from again. In all likelyhood, the officers in question all died a craven coward's death in the manse. For if she had stayed at the front lines, she would have been privy to a miracle... the heavens opening forth and raining Death and Fire on the fairfolk invaders, driving them back to the ancient walls of creation and then out the great Jade gates set into the border of Creation.
There are some who claimed that the unknown Shongunate officers had managed to activate some hidden First Age defense system and thus was the one who saved Creation. They tend to get laughed at for their silly theories, after all... if someone had that much power, they would have proclaimed themselves the new Shogun and thus save all of Creation from centiries of strife, no?
Yes, this is a Creation with no Realm, no wyld hunt... no Immaculate Order.
