Strength Revision: The Problem

Imagine a character with Appearance 10. Can you? It's pretty damned hard. We're talking about something that transcends capabilities to the extent that people may have trouble properly conceiving of your beauty. They are overcome by admiration just glancing at you. You are a god.

Now, try to imagine Intelligence 10. Someone so smart, they can succeed at anything that the smartest, most trained people alive can accomplish - without any training or more than a moment's reflection. Someone for whom advanced particle theory is about as difficult as the ABCs. Someone who has achieved perfect understanding.

Now, let's imagine Strength 10. You can lift a camel.

Whoo.

Simply put, while the Strength tables are nice and strong up to about Strength + Athletics 10, they don't continue to scale up at a ridiculous rate. This is obnoxious. A character putting effort into high Strength should bloody well get a value for it. The result: My revised Strength table.

The Revised Strength Table, Extremely Easily

Up to Str + Ath 10, characters lift the same amount.
After that, every point of Str or Ath adds two to the table, up to Strength + Athletics 15. So a revised Str + Ath of 15 is equal to the table's 20.
After that, every point of Str or Ath adds four to the table, forever. So a revised Str + Ath of 20 is equal to the table's 40.

Ta-dah! Badassitude!

The Table:

|| Revised Strength + Athletics || Amount Lifted in Pounds || || 11 || 1,600 || || 12 || 2,000 || || 13 || 2,500 || || 14 || 3,500 || || 15 || 4,500 || || 16 || 6,500 || || 17 || 8,500 || || 18 || 10,500 || || 19 || 12,500 || || 20 || 14,500 ||

Each additional dot of Strength + Athletics adds 2,000 pounds to the character's lifting totals.

A Few Revisions

Now, all Exalts and supernatural characters with Strength under 10 should probably keep it. They just get cooler for it. However, gods who have higher Strength just to reflect their size, behemoths with the same, warstriders, and any animal with Strength over 5 gets revised as follows:

Take Strength. Substract 5. Divide by three, rounding up. Add the five back.

Example: Tyrant Lizard (Strength 15) becomes Strength 9 (15 - 5 = 10, 10 / 3 equals 4, 5 + 4 = 9). Now high-strength creatures don't need to be transcended the capabilities of the Exalted! (Note: STs may wish to increase the damage dice of all high-strength creatures by 2 to reflect their size. This is discretional, but look at the damage on warstrider weapons for comparison.)

Note: Apply this modification also to any weapons with a Strength requirement above 5. This does make it easier for characters to wield giant weapons. That's cool.

Second Note: These creatures usually have absurd Stamina scores as well, with even less justification. Assume that creatures with reduced Strength have their Stamina reduced to be 1-2 dots lower than their Strength ratings.
