Lunar Exalted

Companions of the Solars and Stewards of the lands of Creation, the Lunar Exalted were the most adaptable and versatile of the Celestial Exalted. Their numbers ravaged by the Usurpation, they fled into the Wyld and were gradually tainted, ultimately being forced to break their castes to survive and tattoo themselves.

General Revisions

• As Celestial Exalted, Lunars have extremely long lifespans, but do not reach the heights of their Solar mates. Lunars do not begin to roll for age effects until they reach 1600 years of age. At that time, they must make a Willpower roll at difficulty 1 - the ability of the Lunar Exalted to endure is based on their unwillingness to give in. This roll is repeated every twenty years, with the difficulty increasing by 1 each time, and no Virtues, Willpower, or other effects may be used to boost its chances of success unless they specifically say that they can. Like Solars, some Lunars used magic to live well past 2000 years of age.
• In order to reach Essence 6+, a Lunar Exalt must both follow the age guidelines listed in the Exalted corebook, and fulfill a Motivation. Lunars may raise their Essence up to a maximum rating of 9.
• Casteless Lunars do not have the normal Wyld Taint problems. Instead, they have the following system:
• The Wyld Taint diepool increases normally, except that if the character is in the Wyld, she adds two dice to the roll.
• If the player rolls more successes than her Dodge MDV, the Storyteller first notes that the character has +1 to a Chimerism track, and chooses a mix of mutations with a total mutation point value of the character's Essence (and increasing her Essence increases her mutation points). No individual mutation may have more points than the rating of the character's Chimerism track. Whenever a character shapeshifts, the Storyteller arbitrarily applies a number of mutation points equal to the character's Chimerism track to the transformation. In this way, every time a chimera changes, she holds random pieces of other shapes.
• Each time that a character undergoes Chimerism, she must roll her Chimerism track minus the total degrees of any Wyld Derangements that she possesses (minimum 0 dice). If the roll succeeds, the character either picks up a new Wyld Derangement or increase the value of an existing one by one degree, from the following list: Cannibalism, Heart's Blood Addiction, Sociopathic Detachment, or Megalomania. If the diepool is 7 or greater, the roll succeeds automatically. No effect can modify this roll. No effect can cure the Derangements thus created. By far the most common
• All effects that normally require various levels of permanent Limit now require that level of Chimerism. This includes Knacks that normally require Permanent Limit. A character who reaches Chimerism 10 automatically picks up two levels worth of the Wyld Derangements listed above, which cannot be cured, and is considered unplayable. She also picks up the mutation Wyld Assimilation to her role as a chimera.

Anima Modifications

All Lunars gain access to a Caste Power, as well as an Anima Power. All Lunar Anima Powers trigger automatically as Anima Effects when the Lunar reaches the 11+ mote level on her anima banner.

Full Moon

• Caste Power: Natural Proficiency: As natural hunters, Full Moons reduce external penalties to physical actions by 1.
• Anima Power: Incredible Speed: Full Moons may spend 5 motes to double all movement and jumping speeds for the scene.

Changing Moon:

• Caste Power: Subtle Skin: As natural shapeshifters, Changing Moons increase the difficulty to spot their Tells by 1 in all forms.
• Anima Power: Shifting Features: This power functions as the power in the Manual of Exalted Power

No Moon:

• Caste Power: Priests Of The Moon: As priests of Luna, No Moons are considered priests at all times, as the Zenith Caste.
• Anima Power: Essence Occultists: This power functions as the No Moon power listed in the Exalted corebook.

Charm Modifications

• The Lunar Second Excellency does not buy bonus successes. Instead, the character may convert up to (Attribute) dice to automatic successes, at a cost of 1 mote per die. This allows a Lunar extra certainty on rolls, instead of the more variable First Excellency.
• The following Knacks and Charms from Dreams of the First Age are modified:
• Compassionate Mirror Nature: This Knack requires only Essence 3, Perception 4, and Life of the Hummingbird as prerequisites.
• Courtesan's Possession: This Knack requires only Essence 4, Perception 5, and Compassionate Mirror Nature as prerequisites.
• Root And Branch Mastery: This Knack requires only Essence 5, Perception 5, and Laurels-And-Ivy Technique as prerequisites.
• Heavenly Servant Imitation: This Knack requires only Essence 5, Intelligence 5, and its usual Knack prerequisites.
• Essential Mirror Form: This Knack requires only Essence 5, Intelligence 5 and its usual Knack prerequisites; however, the character cannot copy Essence-powers rated above Essence 3, regardless of her own Essence rating.
• Herd-Strengthening Tactic: This Charm requires Strength 5, Essence 5
• Flowing Body Ascension: This Charm requires only Dexterity 5. Its duration is One Tick, not One Action.
• Becoming Water's Envy: This Charm requires only Essence 5 and Flowing Body Ascension. It requires the expenditure of six motes when entering Relentless Lunar Fury.
• Relentless Lunar Horde: This Charm requires only Essence 5.
• Butterfly Eyes Face: This Charm requires only Manipulation 5, Essence 4.
• Butterfly Eyes Enhancement: This Charm requires Manipulation 6, Essence 5.
• God-Body Dissection: This Charm requires Perception 6, Essence 5.
• Sunset Hibiscus: This Charm requires Wits 5, Essence 5
