The Eland has a short chestnut colored coat with ten very faint vertical stripes on the back, a white belly and short black mane extending down the spine. Both sexes have horns which consist of two twists, with one in a relatively short length, overall the horns can grow up to 4 feet long. Eland live on the open savanna in nomadic herds of up to 40.
